First place I see most people needing to start the journey of self-exploration is self-acceptance. Don't like something about you? Accept it. Because that's the first block to changing what you don't like. If there's something you're struggling accepting, ask yourself this- does it harm anyone, myself included? If yes, it may not be something you should be accepting and might need help from others with, but you will still need to accept that's where you're at. Plus, it's going to be really hard for others to accept you and where you're at if you never did and don't. Things I don't accept: objectification (of both/all genders), insults, manipulation, gaslighting, etc. Here's what I struggled accepting: my body weight, my deep empathy when it kept getting me hurt Here's where I'm at now: I accept where I am at, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. My body is doing its best with the things and circumstances given it, my willpower has strengthened with a simple turning of a phrase around from a victim perception to one of action- from a helpless "welp, what can I do?" to a "what CAN I do?" with a heavy emphasis on the AN in CAN. What's it mean? It means when you're down right bloody exhausted by everything that's happening, you find the one thing or few things you are still capable of doing in that exhausted state. Today I woke up emotionally exhausted from filing complaints against those who are illegally abusing me. So I had to ask myself what could I do even in my exhausted state. I finally found the energy to go make myself food. It's a small thing, but it was a huge step in the right direction. Next? I CAN finish that painting project. It's almost done and looking absolutely stunning already. Then there's finishing the mastering on my new song. Good topic and one that needs more coverage. Thank you.
