[MASS ACCIDENT] EXERCISE Fire Department Celje, Voluntary Fire Units Celje, EMS Celje, Police Celje

As part of the WE SAVE TOGETHER - BLUE LIGHT IN CELJE project, which is intended for the training of intervention services, a mass disaster rescue exercise took place on 25 May 2024. The assumption was that there was a collision of a large number of vehicles in which several people were trapped. One vehicle caught fire after the collision, and a vehicle transporting a dangerous substance was also involved. Firefighters secured the scene of the accident, extinguished the burning vehicle and prevented further leakage of the dangerous substance. Several trapped persons were rescued from the vehicles with the help of technical interventions. Due to the large number of injured, a triage station was set up. Paramedics and doctors of the EMS Celje treated the injured on the spot and transported them to nearby hospitals. With the help of a scanner, the officers of the Police Department of Celje inspected the scene of the traffic accident. In addition to the professional firefighters of Fire Department Celje, the volunteer fire brigades VFD Celje-Gaberje, VFD Ostrožno, VFD Zagrad-Pečovnik, VFD Teharje, VFD Lokrovec Dobrova, VFD Škofja Vas, VFD Trnovlje, VFD Ljubečna, VFD Lopata, VFD Babno, VFD Šmartno v Rožni Dolini, VFD Štore, VFD Prožinska Vas and VFD Svetina.
