I know not everyone appreciates ME3, but if you ask me its got some of the best writing, best character development, best acting, and best dialogue in the entire trilogy. Just cuz it has a massively underwhelming final 5 minutes doesn't mean I don't still hang onto every single line that comes out of Garrus' mouth. And Andersons death always makes me tear up. All that he gave, all that he did, ends with him dying from a gunshot wound in the middle of a destroyed citadel next to the man whom he knew was always right. I wish he could have had that family, that child to call his own, and some genuine love that doesn't rely on his trigger finger or inspiring speeches.

This saga marked me in a way that no other fiction has. At first you think about seeing yourself as a character, but quickly you realize that this is Shepard's story. And it was a pride to accompany her, my commander. 3 games, 1 story. We said we were going to win this war, "Whatever the cost"... but the cost was too high. His possible death impacted me as if I were aboard the Normady, and I still can't see Mass Effect without Shepard. I wish with all my heart that he returns in ME4. This is Cauã Lobo, and this is my favorite game in the entire universe.

This is arguably the greatest franchise in video game history. Yes it's right up there with pacman and donkey kong in the pantheon of games that changed things. I cried when I first finished the trilogy, not because Sheppard died, but because it was over. I am so proud that this game came from Canada as well, being Canadian myself. Drew Karpyshyn is a brilliant writer. Fun fact, the reaper sound was sourced by a creaky lid on a bear proof garbage bin in a provincial park in Alberta. They lowered the pitch of it and presto!

Phenomenal work. I am inspired by your Mass Effect tribute videos to just live and not just survive. While we face our giants in every day life and battle our own set of conflicts, I am reminded to take five and just sit down for a good while and be grateful for having gone through the experience of playing the Mass Effect franchise. This reminds me of a quote i heard in an anime, but for the life of me i cant recall which one. "Before me stood a hero amongst the rubble of war, like a gittering almost blinding spec of gold amongst giant and infinite mounds of gray gravel" That line right there perfectly describes Shepherd as a person. A spec of glittering gold in the piles of dirt and ash.

Well if you chose the control ending he dies. If you chose the synthesis ending he dies. If you chose the rejection ending he most likely spends the remainder of his life fighting and failing to stop the Reapers until he dies. If you chose the destroy ending with over 4000 EMS he will live but his story is over anyway as the Reapers are gone.

Shepard has stopped all reapers but yet there is no solution for future conflict . They can make a one more good story out of it.

I just finished ME3 today of the legendary edition. This was my first try of Mass Effect. Damn what a ride it was and I got to experience it freshly. I may be late on this, but yeah when ME nostalgia hits, I'll think of 2023. This game forced me into quite a character development. My ME1 male Shepard was rutheless when needed and at high stakes. His renegade side dominateted the game. My ME2 Shepard started to learn about the bigger image of the fight, making some Paragorn choices. He was still mainly rutheless made some kind choices. It was a bit closer between Paragon and Renegade. Finally my ME3 Shepard realised not every drastic decision will help in this. He realised not every kill was a solution to the problem and he needed to let people or enemies go so they can join him. My Shepard and ended up with Paragon closest to Renegade than ever before, I think seperated by only 1 bar. Renegade still won, but that was only because of dialogue. He stopped sacrificing lives at all costs without thinking. After Ashley William's death on Virmire, he did not lose a signle crewmate, except Mordin Solus in ME3. He hit my hill top of 3 favorite game characters. I think I will not even replay the games, even before ME4 comes out. Not even after. To keep Shepard's story pure and without changes.

I believe Shepard was single all this time by this dialogue. 1:57 - 2 : 12 The reason of this because of his default background and they should had given some of the most important prominent characters unique dialogue acknowledging the fact your with someone but they didn't. And when you don't romance nobody certain characters already get hooked up. Or possibly his default Romance is Ashley since she's the first romance you can start before Liara.

Just a thought, the main character's name is Shepard. And what does a Shepard do? He tends, guards and protects his flock (people). Isn't that what the Commander did? He protected everyone. God, I love this trilogy!

When i think of him the image that came into my mind is John Shepard by default. Heroic, compassive but a bit ruthless in some situations, a man ho see his entire crew+squad like his own family, a guy ho try to help everyone ho is on the way, always finding the way to make peace and a better galaxy for every species, a man ho falls in love with Liara and get a bit jealous about Feron but in the end a man ho choose to destroy the syntethic life only for his friends (feeling guilty about EDI and Legion's deaths), all the people ho died by the reapers, for a future and for his true love Liara T'Soni. I started to play this franchise back on December 23rd and i can't stop thinking about anything related to ME, now i'm doing a romance with Tali and so many people will be mad for my words...but i can only see Tali as a friend/young sister, i'm feeling bad because i really want to make a Liara's romance again instead of Tali's (also i'm cockblocking my partnert Garrus and he is the best friend that i've never had and probably i'll never have)
