Christopher Lehmann Well, animations are something that take a really long time. A 20 second scene can take up to a week to animate. So 6 months not really that long. Its because you can fully customize your face, were in Naughty Dog and CDproject games you can't . Its a lot i mean a LOT easier to make facial animations to one pacific face (like in witcher 3) or just go with motion capture (like in uncharted 4) than making facial animations for a fully customizable face where you have to make sure that everything works correct despite what face you create.

OK, thoughts: 1) Galaxy Map is back to how it was in ME1, plot a course and go there, easy and simple, not saying I hated controlling the mini-Normandy in ME2 & 3, but things are quicker 2) A lot more activity going on the hubs now, a little too much for my liking but that's kinda because the video's going a little fast, I'll take my time when I get the game 3) haven't seen enough use of the conversation wheel, I hear the Paragon/Renegade system is gone to make the choices less black and white which I'm thankful for, make it more like Dragon Age, and I'm glad interrupts are back, now tell me where the nearest news reporter is, because we got a quota to meet which involves handing out One Good Falcon Punch 4) Combat is much more faster pace than ME3, more agile and more stylized IMO. 5) ME1's exploration is back... WITH A VENGEANCE. Looks like Bioware is trying to make full use of the Frost-bite engine. 6) For a brief moment, the quest log showed that loyalty missions are coming back, I like that 7) The scan tool we saw in the PS4 Pro tech demo is back and before I saw it as the scan visor from Metroid Prime, now it's becoming detective mode from Batman: Arkham City Overall, It's Mass Effect 1's exploration making sweat space love with Mass Effect 3's combat, on top of a PS4 Pro mattress.

Shrouded Figure Thing is that Origins had more variety in terms of builds, also it's combat was much deeper due to professions and spell combos Trees were better since classes weren't only limited to two weapon types and the skills made much more sense, the quests were also much more memorable and it had a better sense of progression, it didn't start you off fighting a fucking Pride Demon that a random ass guy without memories that just got a weapon shouldn't be capable of defeating under any circumstances

I really liked this trailer. Although there are some things I am having questions about now. - The trailer shows really good some different classes that you can have. But from the interface I could not see if you only have 3 specific class abilities or if you have more but only 3 active. The weapon wheel only shows Guns and Ammo but no skills to re-assign quickly. 2:58 - Then you can see that you cann somehow call pods. In the trailer it is shown when they describe that you have to craft your stuff. But does that mean you would open a menu, craft your new armor and then let it sent via pod? Who actually will craft it? Someone on the Tempest? Do we have to hire them? 3:25 - Where do the Krogans come from? I genocided them! ;P No really where are they coming from? We have Turians, Asari and usually Quarians (who would as we all know be fitting the most for such missions) as council races. As far as I understood the Andromeda Initiative Briefing it is said, there are 5 Arks. 2 with humans and 3 with other races. So did we all assume falsely that the other races will be council races? It seems so. 1:04 The last is pointing now to the comments. Whats wrong with some of you guys? There are comments like "The facial animations are bad", "... they have to compete with animated John Snow", "After I played FFXV and Witcher 3, the cutscenes look pretty bad" and so on. Am I the only one that thinks that Mass Effect Andromeda is not compared with any of these games? How good were the facial animations in ME 1, 2 or 3? Better? Nah. So they really did improve that. And after that one real cutscene we have now seen, I dont think it is possible to judge about dialogs and writing, as some of you did. I played through ME 1-3 several times and the dialogues in all 3 of them were pretty much variing depending on how you played and what you picked. In most times doing renegade stuff was way better written and way more funny and on point in dialogues as the sentinel dialogues. So I guess in here we will also have many variations of those dialogues.

Thank you, finally a legitimate comment that isn't pure cancer. I don't know about the first two points but for the Krogan one, the Krogan have joined with the Arks going to the Andromeda galaxy for like mercenary work and to look for a world that isn't a nuclear wasteland etc. They don't have their own Ark though for security reasons. As for the facial animations, people are overreacting. Are they amazing? No. But compared to ME 1, 2 and 3 they are way better. The dialogue in this gameplay had been cut down for the trailer, I imagine the conversation will be way longer. And in Andromeda they have gotten rid of Paragon/Renegade so now you can be what ever kind of person you want without being restricted by the reputation bar. The people in the KZbin comments are the vocal minority. Everyone else I've seen on Reddit and Twitter have been super excited for this. I have personally enjoyed what I've seen so far. Gameplay and exploration looks fun af and I am interested in the new squadmates that were shown. I have faith that Bioware will make this game great as they did with DA:I.

The Andromeda mission was launched in between the events of Mass Effect 2 and 3. Therefore, none of the choices you made in the third game had any effect on the mission.So, the Krogans could legitimately enter this mission. Also, Quarians are not part of the council races. They were exiled after the the council found out they created the Geth. Council races are members of the citadel races who sit on the council. Therefore, they are Humans, Turians, Asari and Salarians. These four, along with the Krogans are the only species' confirmed so far for Andromeda. Also there are only 4 arks and one station called the Nexus entering Andromeda. 1 ark is for the humans, while the three others are held by Turians, Asari and Salarians respectively. The Nexus is sort of a command station of sorts.

I feel the same way. The issue is that inquisition really chopped out a lot of interesting locations, decisions and dialogue in place of large open maps you run around (with little variation in actual content throughout them). It wasn't nearly as interesting as the first 1 but the combat was sweet at least. Problem is after hours and hours of continuously killing things the exact same way you start to get bored of the lack of other dynamics.

It will be somewhat like Inquisition, as Inquisition is the only game Bioware has made in the Frostbite engine prior to Andromeda. That said, from what I have seen, it actually does feel like they are striving to make it much more "alive" than Inquisition. Don't get me wrong, I liked Inquisition, but the exploration was rather plain, more quantity than quality. It feels like they are trying to make side questing in ME:A much more in depth. They have copied some things from The Witcher 3, like the scanning tool/witcher sense that allows you to investigate an area allowing for detective-like gameplay. They even ask on their beta questionnaire how you would rate The Witcher 3 and how you would improve one of Bioware's own games. It's a good thing they are looking at Witcher IMO, since it is a perfect mix of both quality and quantity. Regardless, I have really not been disappointed with the main story of a BIoware game (last 10 mins of ME3 excluded), so I am still very excited to play Andromeda and re-immerse myself in this universe!

This game looks like a more advanced "No Man's Sky". For me, the Mass Effect Trilogy was about the characters and the story/journey they went on, the deep connections you created, whilst exploration was a very mute point. With the new game, it looks like it's going to have a heavier emphasis on exploration, crafting and all around RPG elements which to me, isn't what got me hooked on Mass Effect. I was all excited to get this game, now not so much.

I wasn't very excited for the new game since for me the trilogy is completed and getting a new story after we killed the biggest and most dangerous ennemi possible, I'm just not convinced about a new galaxy. That being said, I'm also not a big fan of what I saw. The combat looks like a typical TPS mixed with some dashes and abilities to fit the new "fast pace" standard that every game seems to have nowadays. I'm also not a big fan of the "collect stuff in a open world". Granted I'm currently playing FFXV doing just that, but it feels right in it for some rasons. But hey! Maybe Bioware fixed the mistakes with Inquisition and this open world will be good, but so far I'm not sure I'll even play it.

I hate how cynical everyone is about this game. Bioware doesn't owe you anything, this is their game that they've spent countless hours of every day working on. Obviously you're gonna hate the game if you go in with such a cynical attitude, so why don't you just try to sit back and enjoy the gorgeous world the Bioware team has made?

well not exactly. yes, its a franchise that is going on but its not the same, as in its new characters in a new glaxey. its almost a fresh start, so with that in mind, yes its for the consumer but its still biowares new ish creation. Realisicly, no one will know if they like it till it comes out and if people dont like it, then players are owed something for trying to continue a franchise that was fine the way it could of ended.

Oh I totally will, though I did that with Inquisition and I was left unhappy, although it had much more detail than the other DA games it lacked in things that I would remember, I remember every single quest from DA:O and Awakening and love them, I cannot say the same for DA:I since they spread out too thin in the story aspect

With a constant stream of disappointing AAA hyped-up games in the past year, consumers have the right to be critical and suspicious in plunking down $60 on something. Companies seem to be on this trend of obsessing over scale and graphics while ignoring gameplay. So far only Japanese companies have delivered top notch games in 2017 with Nioh and Yakuza 0, hopefully Mass Effect is another gem but Bioware burned a lot of people with Inquisition, I don't blame them for being critical and suspicious of another game that promises the universe but delivers dullness. Saying that, I personally think Mass Effect will be good but I can understand where others are coming from.

So much salt in the comments, it's almost like people will find anything to complain about nowdays. When did we turn into such whining and disgustingly self centered and spoiled generation? And whats worse that same toxicity ruins the game for new gamers who just want to enjoy the game and stumble upon the comments and half baked reviews. Bioware games have always be first and foremost about amazing story, rich lore and great characters. Graphic come second, an added bonus. And from what i see, graphic are improved over previous version, we have a new story, new characters and new lore of brand new galaxy to explore and enjoy. All these quips and snarks regarding quality of game from a several minutes of quick cuts of gameplay from unfinished and yet unpublished game which are not enough to grant a big picture of game that you can only get when you finally play it for yourself. There will always be bugs, glitchy animations and unnecessary content but it should be taken with grain of salt and good dose of humor not violent outbursts to crucify the game that isnt even out yet. Same bullshit happened on previous games, even DA:I that you compare it to so yet you still played those games, over and over and over again. I don't know what kind of revelation gameplay/graphic wise did people expect and half of those snarks come from people who don't even understand how difficult is the game development. So just sit back, buckle up, relax and enjoy the game when it comes out.

I think its more accurate to not leave a negative comment, but rather speculative opinion on what they think or want the game to be. Its not even out yet and and people are praising the shit out of it. Trailers don't mean crap and honestly they haven't shown us nothing in terms of narrative, mostly all i see is open world exploration. is this going to be one of those MMO clones that has undermindingly taking the media by storm these days with all the new generation games. Or is this going to stray true to the original series and deliver a scifi space opera epic conjoining story as well. Only time will tell but i swear to Christ if this turns into another game like Xenoblade Chronicles X where they literally killed the "ROLE PLAYING" aspect of it. You know, the STORY?? Then i am done with mass effect. I am really getting so sick and tired of every game turning into this open world adventure with very little writing. FF XV was the same way, didn't impress me that much because what little of the narrative there was, was spread so thin that it probably amount to like 20% of the experience. Honestly i rather just stick with my jrpgs in that sence. Or classic rpgs you know back when people actually gave a damn about script and writing.

I like everything but the crafting. Crafting seems to be so overused these days. Also most of those games just base all the armor and stats on farming. Maybe Bioware will make it better. I BELIEVE IN YOU BIOWARE

What was this fictional time where Bioware had good animations? Because before DA:O and ME faces were pretty much heads with textures painted on, and since then animations have been pretty much the same. Also, the Witcher 3 had more fluid animations because it didn't have to deal with custom characters because every character was pre made and the rigging could be done for each character specifically.
