Well, Adam, I see what you're trying to say, but I would argue that Shepard is a lot more dangerous than the player. Oftentimes the player will fail at a certain task and have to try it again, but for Shepard only the successes really "happen". The player, of course, manages to eventually achieve everything that Shepard does, but Shepard is a lot more adaptable and quick to learn than the one controlling him.

*Just saw someone make a comment about turning ME into a movie and had a thought. It's amazing how far video games have surpassed movies these days. A 2 hour long movie wouldn't be able to do justice to the emotion, story, universe of Mass Effect. The uniqueness of every individual experience mapped out by each player's choices and their investment in the series. Not to mention the fact that movies are passive entertainment while video games require active participation. Technology has come so far. 20 years ago video games wouldn't be able to hold a candle to any big blockbuster movie. Now the roles are reversed.*

@Inblader8 жыл бұрын
+Zeebrah Mass Effect is more an experience for players, "Paragon Lost" (even if it's not a real movie) showed that be passive while watching the movie was a bad idea because we loose all the things of the Trilogy! Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat are a good example (not only because they were shitty) of this argument, but some video games managed to offer nice movies (Tomb Raider left me good memories)...

GluzinGames I love the Mass Effect Trilogy. I'm happy that they didn't get the SW Licence and had to develop their own Universe. IMO it's better than SW. Personal taste. But they have lost their energy. Their last games were ALL structured the same. Things seem hopeless and the hero tried to make alliances to fight the villian. They even copied this structure!! to Dragon AGE:I! In essence these games all have the same general structure. This isn't very innovative to say the least. We need more stories with UNEXPECTED twists, turns and plots. Not every game needs an epic story with soupy heroism. BTW, I'm one of the few who actually liked the end of ME3.

The best thing to do is to keep this specific story of Cmdr. Shepard as a video game. There are sooooo many scenarios that could play out for a movie plot of about 2.5 hours. Potential movie plot: 1st arc - The discovery of the Prothean beacon on Mars 2nd arc - The discovery of the Charon Mass Effect relay 3rd and final actionpacked arc of the movie, the First Contact War. For me this would be a really amazing movie, because these are events that are thoroughly discussed in the trilogy, they are never shown even as illustrations, and the characters and events are carefully explained in the correct order and are also never shown anywhere in the trilogy. It's like the perfect scenario for a Mass Effect movie, because the producers and directors have the creative freedom to build it, and to show how humans discovered the Mass Effect relays and how the First Contact War played out where we could meet characters such as Ashley Williams' father.
@aginor6487 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewchr That would be amazing but they would need to work hard to make it remain in the style of the gritty, violent and realistic sci-fi universe that is Mass Effect. It runs the risk of becoming too much like Star Trek, which is more lighthearted and sometimes cheesy in it’s style.

That moment when you became a Spectre. After having put up with all the council bullshit, all that racial bias and prejudice and especially smart ass Volus ambassador, standing at that podium and watching all those people watch the beginning of a new era, nothing beats that moment. After all these years when I go back and relive the moments in the trilogy, I realized that this was the turning point, the moment shit just got real if you will. That soundtrack will always have a special place in my heart. When I'm old and withered and my grandkids boast about their KD in COD 256, I'll smack their pussy asses and ask them "tell me you little shit, did you wade through the filth of bureaucracy and racial prejudice to become a Spectre? No? I thought not, so shut up you self entitled twats and go get me some lemonade". tl;dr I have fond memories of the first ME.

I remember when I was coming to the end of the trilogy for the first time. I felt like the characters were literal family my emotions were so very real and the tension and heartbreak was insane. Such a masterpiece. Can't wait to delve back in.

New Worlds, An End once and for all. I love it. I'm not just a fan. ME changed my life. It woke up my fascination for space, aliens and so on. Pls Shepard. Come back someday. And pls let there be the Charon Portal behind Ceres. If I'm dead once, I will be looking for the coordinates where Tessia, Tuchanka and all the other planets should be. Thx Bioware. Thx EA. Thx Shepard.

To envision your stories in games and keeping every little inch of atmosphere you created in there, while making them some of the most fascinating pieces of art millions of gamers got to experience... that was Bioware, Mr. Karpyshyn. My god, that was Bioware.

"Tell me about The Shepard". .... feels man. 🥺 In that one moment it hits you, it's over...no more Shepard, no more Garrus, or Liara, Alenko/Williams,or Wrex, nobody... No more adventures or defying absolute evil... it's done, Shepard has earned his/her rest, but it tears you apart to come to terms with the fact that this is Fin...

I love this series, and re-listening to the soundtrack, especially of 3 gets me feeling all those emotions all that build up and character interaction and depth that drew you in that made you care about them and the story and realizing that the ending was an inevitable sacrifice that could never have been averted and that all the hope and love your team and companions had all lead up to such a climactic ending. Bioware out did themselves when they made mass effect, they took story telling and player immersion into such depth that even now years after having completed the series that listening to one song can bring all of it back and make you yearn to re-experience it for the first time again. And I'm man enough to admit when Shepard and Garrus had there last talk i teared up, since Garrus and Tali have literally stuck with Shepard throughout the entirety of his journey, been there in every game for every big conflict and just the depth of their friendship drawn out among all the games just leaves that sharp pain when you realize it really is a final goodbye between them. High hopes for the next installment of the series starting with Andromeda.

Recent just got the Legendary Edition becuase I played all the way up to the end of the 2nd game multiple times but i never played 3 for some reason, so I thought you know what i'm finally gonna finish this trilogy because I can honestly say Mass effect 1 and 2 are two of my favourite games ever made, such good story and so much replay ability I do believe it was the first game I played that made me think "wow games can do a good story" and I still love the Ilos theme to this day it always bought about a soothing feeling i cannot properly describe. If you have never played Mass Effect you are doing yourself a great disservice.

The gratest trilogy of all gaming history for me. Exellent senario, solid characters, amazing action and all of that surrounded by an inspired soundtrack. So epic until the last detail that even the voice of Buzz Aldrin at the end leaves us a beautiful memory of that trilogy. All fans await the to continue this journey with a perfect new chapter on ps5 so as to put Andromeda aside

All three games have incredible tracks. I found my soundtrack experience of ME3 uneven within the game, but the quality of each individual tracks are impressive to say the least. One single hour of compilation doesn't even do the franchise's justice, but I commend the author of this particular compilation for having a really good taste ;).

***** Yeah I can't get past ME1's clunkiness.
@jeremydeturenne82078 жыл бұрын
skip it. Just watch a video that sums up the story. I started the Mass Effect trilogy very late, so ME1 wa soutdated, clunky and the gameplay was meh. Watch a video to get up to date with the story then played ME2 then 3! I've finished them a few times now
@jeeeeeensen8 жыл бұрын
No my dudes, I totally get where you're coming from, but there were moments in Mass Effect 1 that just can't be watched, they demand to be played through. All of Virmire, choosing who to leave to arm the nuke, the fight with Wrex. The battle with Saren in the end, and convincing him to fight his indoctrination. The race to the Conduit on Ilos. These are just a few of the key moments in that game that make it the beginning of the best trilogy in current memory. I entirely agree with the fact that it is really clunky, and the graphics and gameplay are outdated by a bit, but even with that accounted for, the game itself is still certainly worth a playthrough. That's just my opinion though.

My whole life, whenever I play RPG games, I normally only read about 20% of the in-game lores, just enough to understand the story. But Mass Effect trilogy, I went through over 90%. Its such a well-crafted fascinating world - seems like a grand scheme of binary opposition yet embedded deeply with so much diversity and inner conflicts. Most of the characters, even side quest people, are memorable and relatable. It makes you couldn't help but invest not only long hours of playing, but also true emotions. How I wish I could meet the game's makers and thank them in their face for creating such an experience for us to enjoy.
