I don’t have any way of sending the mark scheme but I believe it was A-level paper 2 2018 or 2019.

Are we dividing the eV by c^2 or is that just the unit to show that mass and energy are interchangeable?

That’s just the unit. Mass in kg is joules/c^2. So you must make sure to convert eV to joules first.

To convert MeV/c^2 to kg, you convert the MeV number to joules and then divide by 9x10^16. To convert kg to MeV/c^2, you multiply the kg by c^2 and then convert the result (in joules) into MeV. It is so that the number for energy and the number for mass are the same. So 10 MeV of energy is the same as 10 MeV/c^2 of mass.
