I am a bible believing Christian, The Bible compares death to sleep more than fifty times. After death we are asleep, we are unconscious; we are not aware of the passing of time or of what is going on around us. That is what death is like as well. The Bible says, “for the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing… their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, NKJV, see also Psalm 146:4; 115:17). It makes sense that after Lazarus was raised from the dead, he doesn’t share what he saw or experienced. He didn’t have anything to tell, except that once he was dead, and now he is alive! He didn’t experience hell or heaven. He was simply “sleeping” in his tomb. Peter on the Day of Pentecost said the same of King David. “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day…For David did not ascend into the heavens…"(Acts 2:29, 34). Many Christians think of the soul as an immortal entity within us that goes on living after death. What does the Bible say? Describing the creation of human beings in the beginning, the Bible says, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7, KJV). Other Bible translations say, “. . . and man became a living being” (NKJV; NIV). God did not put a soul into man. He formed the body from the dust of the ground, and then He breathed His life-giving spirit into the lifeless body-and the result was a soul, or a living being. When a person dies, the reverse takes place. The breath of life departs from the body, and the soul no longer exists. That’s what the Bible says. “The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7, NIV). At the resurrection, God reunites the body and His life-giving spirit-and the person lives again. If souls existed as separate entities that lived on after we died, that would mean we have immortality. However, the Bible says human beings do not have immortality. Only God is immortal (see 1 Timothy 6:15, 16). Paul says that the righteous “seek for glory, honor, and immortality” (Romans 2:7). If we had immortal souls, why would the righteous seek after something they already have? Though we may die, Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25). We will receive immortality when Jesus comes again (see 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). The Bible says that all those who have died-both righteous and wicked-will be raised to life in one of two resurrections. The righteous will be raised to life at Jesus’ second coming. “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NKJV). According to this verse, the righteous do not go to heaven when they die. They remain asleep in the grave until Jesus returns and raises them to immortal life (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-57). The wicked are raised to life in a separate resurrection-the resurrection of condemnation. Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation” (John 5:28, 29, NKJV). The prophets never mention in the Bible that the righteous immediately go to heaven or the wicked go to hell when they die. Neither did Jesus and His apostles teach it. When Jesus was about to leave His disciples, He did not tell them they would soon come to Him. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3, NKJV). When He returns, our loved ones asleep in Christ will awake from their tombs. No matter how long the time has passed, be it long or short, will seem but a moment to them. By the voice of Jesus, they are called forth from their deep slumber they will begin to think just where they ceased, awakening to a glorious immortality. “For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible … So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’” (1 Corinthians 15:52, 54). The last sensation was the pang of death, the last thought, that they were falling beneath the power of the grave, but then, imagine, when they arise from the tomb to the shout, “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).

@@GodsCottage Jesus plainly told His disciples that He would suffer, be killed, and be raised to life (Luke 9:22), He took Peter, James, and John up a mountain to pray. While praying, His personal appearance was changed into a glorified form, and His clothing became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Jesus about His death that would soon take place. Peter, not knowing what he was saying and being very fearful, offered to put up three shelters for them. This is undoubtedly a reference to the booths that were used to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, when the Israelites dwelt in booths for 7 days (Lev. 23:34-42). Peter was expressing a wish to stay in that place. When a cloud enveloped them, a voice said, “This is My Son, whom I have chosen, whom I love; listen to Him!” The cloud lifted, Moses and Elijah had disappeared, and Jesus was alone with His disciples who were still very much afraid. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone what they had seen until after His resurrection. The three accounts of this event are found in Matthew 17:1-8, Mark 9:2-8, and Luke 9:28-36. Undoubtedly, the purpose of the transfiguration of Christ into at least a part of His heavenly glory was so that the “inner circle” of His disciples could gain a greater understanding of who Jesus was. Christ underwent a dramatic change in appearance in order that the disciples could behold Him in His glory. The disciples, who had only known Him in His human body, now had a greater realization of the deity of Christ, though they could not fully comprehend it. That gave them the reassurance they needed after hearing the shocking news of His coming death. Symbolically, the appearance of Moses and Elijah represented the Law and the Prophets. But God’s voice from heaven - “Listen to Him!” - clearly showed that the Law and the Prophets must give way to Jesus. The One who is the new and living way is replacing the old - He is the fulfillment of the Law and the countless prophecies in the Old Testament. Also, in His glorified form they saw a preview of His coming glorification and enthronement as King of kings and Lord of lords. The disciples never forgot what happened that day on the mountain and no doubt this was intended. John wrote in his gospel, “We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only” (John 1:14). Peter also wrote of it, “We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.’ We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain” (2 Peter 1:16-18). Those who witnessed the transfiguration bore witness to it to the other disciples and to countless millions down through the centuries.

Hi Regina, if you left click the 'share' tab just under the video, then click 'copy' - you have then copied the link to the video on utube. Then you 'paste' the link as a 'post' on your facebook page. The link will then bring people from your facebook page to the u-tube channel. You cannot 'embed' the video into the video section on facebook. You just send out the link as a post. I hope this helps. Imelda

Arzoo Raja is a 13-year-old Christian girl who was forcibly converted to Islam and forcibly married to a 44-year-old Muslim man. It was very cruel and unjust and a violation of human and minority rights. I went on a hunger strike against this injustice. Meanwhile, Imran Khan called on the Minister for Human Rights to take action against this injustice. The provincial government of Sindh and the federal government took action and arrested a 44-year-old Muslim man and sent Arzoo Raja to a government shelter home whose environment is Islamic. All of you pray for this girl. So I withdrew my decision to go on hunger strike because the court and the government have taken action. If the court and the government do not do justice to Arzoo Raja and her family, we will go on a hunger strike till death. We want to eradicate Christian phobia in Pakistan. praying for the dead is not biblical, When a person pass away he is a sleep waiting for the second coming of our Lord Jesus. A sleep that soul has no knowledge of his or her past he or she remembers nothing they are just a sleep. Where we go after we die will be determined in this life. Jesus said to the religious leaders of His day. I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins (John 8:24). He also said that no one could pass from the place of the unrighteous dead to the place of the righteous dead. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us (Luke 16:26). After death comes judgment. Condemnation for the wicked and rewards for righteous, not purgatory. And it is appointed for humans to die once, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Final judgment is never dependent upon what we do after we die. Jesus cried at the tomb of his dead friend Lazarus (John 11:35). He did not pray for him. Example Of David's Son King David prayed fervently for his young son while he was still alive. Once he died, David stopped praying, for there was nothing else anyone could do. Believers earn their rewards in this life. There is no chance to earn them in the intermediate state. Scripture teaches that we will be judged for our works, and there is no work we can do after we have died. Praying for the dead gives false hope to people. What is worse is that it stops the prayers for the living. This is where our prayers should be directed. Some claim a biblical basis for praying for the dead. There is an account of Paul writing about a man named Onesiphorus. May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains. On the contrary, when he was in Rome, he searched hard for me until he found me. May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus (2 Timothy 1:16-18). Some have used this passage to argue for praying for the dead. It is said that Paul prayed for mercy for Onesiphorus, a man who was dead. Therefore Paul believed his prayer could have some affect on the outcome of the destiny or reward of Onesiphorus. First, we do not know that he was dead. Nothing in this passage makes this certain. The fact that Paul prayed for his entire household does not mean Onesiphorus himself was dead. Second, even if he were dead, this is not a specific prayer on his behalf. Paul is merely expressing a desire that mercy will be shown to him on the day of judgment. Praying for the dead is contrary to everything the Bible teaches. The Bible says that the fate of the dead is determined in this life. Praying for them does no good whatsoever. The example of Onesiphorus does not teach that we should pray for the dead. This is not a biblical doctrine. We need to pray for the living.

@@GodsCottage God bless you...The scripture of 2 Peter 2:4-6 reads, "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly." This passage says that the angels who sinned were sent to hell. If Jesus went to hell to preach repentance to the spirits that were there during his temporary death, he would have preached repentance to the lost souls that dwelt in Sodom and Gomorrah as well as to fallen angels while preaching to the departed spirits from Noah's day. Jesus is not a Savior of fallen angels, because fallen angels can never be saved. He is the Savior for mankind only (Hebrews 2:16-17). Why preach repentance to fallen angels for whom he did not die at Calvary? The scripture of 2 Peter 2:4-6 also makes some very important comparisons. First, the angels were not spared and, again, they can never repent and be saved. God's word says that the lake of fire was prepared for the Devil and his angels, not for man. That does not mean that some people will not end up going there, but it was not prepared for them, because they, unlike angels, can be redeemed (Matthew 25:41). We know also that the wicked men of Sodom and Gomorrah died without salvation and no scripture says anything about them having another chance to be saved after they died. Why would the wicked men of Noah's day be the only people to have a chance to repent and be saved AFTER they died and went to hell? We would have to ask, "Will Jesus return to hell again to preach repentance to lost souls?" Also, if this is truth, there's no need to worry about receiving salvation while alive. Receive it when you get a second chance in hell at the preaching of Jesus. Finally, the scripture of Hebrews 9:27 completely destroys the erroneous teaching that Jesus preached in hell to the deceased from Noah's day. Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but AFTER this, the judgment." There is no second chance for anyone to repent and be saved after death. They face judgment after death, not preaching. The teaching that Jesus preached in hell to lost souls is not in agreement with the rest of what scripture says about salvation. The passage of 1 Peter 3:18-20 lets us know that it was the Spirit of Christ who preached THROUGH Noah to the wicked world of that day.

We Christians translated the Bible before you were a twinkling in anyone’s eyes a thousand + yrs ago. No where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the only source of the word of God. Divine Inspiration and tradition in the church are also ways we know, what God’s message is to us. Jesus called His Apostles to go forth and baptize all nations In the name of the Father........and He also left them i charge of the church. He said, What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and what you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. The problem with you bible tumpers in the protestant religions is you’re forgetting the History do the Church.
