Mass IT outage hits companies including Sky News as planes grounded and train services affected

Businesses including banks, airlines, train companies, telecommunications companies, TV and radio broadcasters, and supermarkets have been taken offline following a mass global outage.
Major US airlines including American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines have been grounded, while airports in Germany, Amsterdam and Spain are also reporting issues.

None of the news stories so far have mentioned alternatives to CrowdStrike OR Windows. It sucks, and people should know what thier options are. I don't know of a good CrowdStrike alternative (sadly), but I do know that Linux is much better than Windows. On desktop it's already better, due to being out of control of large companies. On servers, it's amazing for stability and the software is more modular. Less chance of a single point of failure when issues are easier to isolate.

This is operating system crash on local level it is solved mostly by backing up the data and formating the PC and reinstalling everything back and it is worst possible problem that can happen to operating system and it takes extreme tedious work to restore things and it seems operating system has crashed in many servers simultaneously and it will take enormous effort time to restore it because it is like installing new server from scratch with restoring old data and working software of different companies while making sure they work as before
