Exactly why I left my 1st husband...I was scared one day his violence would be aimed towards our daughters even if by accident. So after 10 years of abuse & other things he did to me I took my girls and the clothes on our backs and left. Never looked back!!! That was 10 years ago and I still have nightmares! Yeah this song is definitely an accurate depiction. The sad part is the cycle continues until someone is "brave" enough to break it. Which sounds so easy but it's nearly impossible. If anyone is in this situation they should consider not just the physical risk of abuse towards your kids but you are actually causing irreversible psychological damage. The longer you stay the more your kids are affected.
