I think they both agreed to kill the kids before the "apocalypse". My guess, Todt was supposed to kill the kids, kill her, the dog, and then kill himself.. but like a true coward he couldn't finish the job. The fact that he killed the dog tells me that he did want the "whole family" to be together in the afterlife. I think the fraud charges and the financial issues pushed him and Megan over the edge. I actually believe Todt when he says that him and Megan planned this and told the kids that they would all die and be together. Todt's statement at the sentencing hearing was the most bizarre and infuriating thing I've ever heard. Absolutely mind boggling, this guy is a true coward and an absolute psychopath.

The way he responded to the prosecutor was the only time when he let himself be as his truly self. The guy is disgusting. His behavior, the way he wanted to blame his wife for the murders. This is much like the Christopher Watts case, who blamed his pregnant wife, Shannan, for killing their 2 daughters and had no choice but to kill her while carrying their unborn child. When he was first interviewed on TV asking for help on where his family is, my sister and I knew he was the guilty one.

He started the roller coaster by defrauding the insurance companies. As a last-ditch effort, as the ride came to an end, he actually thought that he could get off by blaming his wife. I'm glad he didn't get the death penalty. He lives in a small cell, every day, knowing that he was NOT as smart as he thought he was.

Oh that’s hard to believe. Brooks was pure evil, disrespectful, cold hearted, cruel, etc. I have never seen anyone that could make me angrier. No remorse No accountability. Even his mother had no empathy for the victims and blamed the prison system for not treating his mental health issues but she always bailed him out. I’ll stop rambling now.

The fact that he killed his children the way he did hurts me deep down. he was their father , someone they were supposed to feel safe with, someone who was supposed to PROTECT THEM WITH ALL HIS LIFE. but the children being killed and seeing him being the one to hurt them just makes me sooooo sad
