Massage and bodyworkers often unknowingly correct aberrant postural patterns and relieve pain by applying Sherrington's Law of Reciprocal Innervation. Techniques like those shown above, open up constricted chest wall soft tissues and also reciprocally strengthen the rhomboids and lower traps. Likewise, lengthening hypertonic lats and subscapularis muscles may reciprocally strengthen the posterior rotator cuff. Enhance skills- Boost referrals-

Much thanks Followyourbliss~ I'm only teaching one USA and one Costa Rica workshop a year. I still have a private practice in Oklahoma City and Santiago, Costa Rica and spend much of my time researching and developing new manual therapy stuff. We're currently working on a new dvd set filmed the day after this live youtube video clip was shot. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for your response Mr. Dalton. Yes the pain is more like a tense feeling and it's in my entire right arm and it starts in my shoulder all the way down to my elbow then to my wrist at time and I also noticed that my elbow pops a lot aswell..I'll take your wonderful advice and seek some treatment. Should i get a massage or see a doctor?

I think I'd begin with some good soft tissue work unless the arm is numb. Persistent radiating pain or numbness probably requires an orthopedic workup....good luck.

Does it make a difference which direction you go in? In my school we were taught to go from the armpit to the hips.

Great work, however, when talking about ribs being pointy on sides 4:20, to push them - they are solid bones with that shape..nothing will change their shape, or help to open something up..,.......your work is one of the best

Ribs arent solid bone. The thoracic cavity is made up mostly cartilaginous tissue with only small bones which are surrounded by more movable tissues

Can anyone describe what movement or stabilization (with what part of the hand) he is performing when the clients arm is overhead and he is working on the pec major and asking him to pull his elbow toward his nose? Also when he is working on pec minor and asking him to pull his elbow down toward knees? Thank you

ollerpops my structural therapist does this to me, but she's on point w her draping, if you're not you can always ask female client to keep bra on..if they're in pain & want relief, they'll let you👍🏽

nerdbama~ sounds like you have a cervical radiculopathy, probably compression of the radial nerve if the pain crosses over to the forearm, index finger and thumb. Need to get someone to evaluate your neck and upper ribcage. If you feel muscle knots in your traps, they're most likely areas of protective muscle spasm. Get some good therapy somewhere...good luck.

No offense, but can you actually show me any difference before and after, resulting from that massage? You can say anything like 'it is effective, it is helpful' because it is better than nothing. I'd like to know the scientific evidence on that.
