"It's either black or white. You're either really good or really bad," said DA$H on a recent visit to MASS APPEAL HQ. "If you fall in the gray area you don't matter." He started rapping around age 15 with friends in Hackensack New Jersey, powered by shared dime bags, bottles of E&J and stolen beats off MySpace. After high school he took the leap of faith to pursue a life in music, sleeping on couches until he got on. His older cousin Dame Dash helped propel him to a wider audience and his friendship with A$AP Yams helped him build up the Hz Global brand. "That man saw a lot of things happening before they did," DA$H recalls. "And he gave a lot of people a voice and a lot of people opportunity to change they lives." Check out the latest episode of Open Space to hear DA$H speak on his new album with $UICIDEBOY$, drop knowledge on substance abuse, and explain why "the culture changed when we entered."
