She purrs like a kitten! The hardest part about starting a freshly-installed diesel engine is getting the air purged out of the fuel lines. We had a New Holland 3-cylinder diesel and my wife ran it out of fuel. It would not start, unless you loosened the fuel lines to the injectors, per the service manual. We now own an International Harvester/Komatsu, with a 3-cylinder Nissan diesel, and it's much easier to start, because of the priming button on the pump.

Frederic Lynes thank you for commenting. The problem with the tractor being hard to start was a bit complex. It started and ran ok before I touched it. But I did install new injector nozzles. On new nozzles the book recommend an opening pressure at 135 atm, and the book says 120 atm on used nozzles. Because the tractor had not been serviced for a very long time I suspect the opening pressure were under 120 atm. With the new nozzles set at 135 atm the pump could hardly apply enough pressure under coldstart. With a new pumphead in the pump it starts right up, though it took me some time to figure it out.

@@poulgammelgaard8868 fuel pumps are the biggest pain in the butt sometimes. I'm fighting with my 1973 VW Super Beetle's Pierburg fuel pump. The problem is that aftermarket parts just aren't the same specs as original.

Yes, great job. And I am also curious about the final result. By the way, I have been looking around on youtube for a Massey Ferguson 4 cylinder restoration from the time they were red and flint grey metallic, but no one seem to be doing that. Sadly MF does not offer the correct flint grey metallic anymore, but it is still possible to find or have it custom mixed. I learned to drive on a 1961 Massey Ferguson 35, with half tracks.

Moteur 3,152..... descendant du P3 (perkins..) tout le monde parle beaucoup!!..... on voit à 28:25 à côté de l'échappement sur la culasse une petite plaque triangulaire fixée par trois goujons... cette pièce est le couvercle de la chambre de pré-combustion... non refroidie!!... elle joue le même rôle que la boule chaude des semi-diesels, sauf qu'on ne la chauffe pas pour les démarrages qui sont difficiles!!!.. by...
