I had to refresh my memory…I have 3 of these maples just like yours and 2 lime green ones with the same structure. In the fall they have unbelievable vibrant colors that I really wish lasted longer. They were already here when I purchased my home so I am not sure of the varieties. The previous owners left us a lot of transformation pictures of the property which I thought was pretty neat. The ones in the front yard were put in the early 70’s and they added through the back in the 80’s along with other types of maples, pines rhododendrons, Azaleas, Hydrangeas, roses fruit, nut trees…been here going on 8 years and still trying to figure out the plants and care needs. Extremely beautiful but also high maintenance…never ending. My first 2 years I just weeded, treated and fertilized so I could see what was coming up each season. I had a arborist come out and he was awe struck by the beauty. I had him come 3 different times and he taught me quite a bit. Very knowledgeable.

I have 2 trees this size and I have pushed off working on them because they are so large and I wasn’t sure how they should look when done. This is a big step up from working on a tree 12” tall. Thanks for showing me what I need to do!
