For the nerds who wonder what Absol is: There is no official statement from the Pokémon company, but Absol resembles a creature called Bai Ze from Chinese myhtology. In some writings it is said to resemble a white feline with a human face, horns and multiple eyes on its body.

Additional information: In Japanese mythology, there's a similar creature called the Hakutaku (probably based off the Bai Ze) which warned the people about a pandemic happening in the near future. Absol also warns others about incidents and disasters, so that's pretty close, I guess. And for those who get the reference: Keine = Absol 👍

Absol is based off Bai Ze, a tiger, as well as the sphinx and lamassa from ancient Sumerian myth which has the body of a lion. It's 100% a cat

I really didn't expected to see an absol buff this patch but damn, it IS good. Ult with shorter cooldown and sucker punch being one second shorter is a blessing (love the increase in the damage stat as well)

I was scared of the absol buff being too much, causing the absol meta to come back but thankfully this buff isn't too bad. I like it except for the atk increase, it's in my opinion a little too much. Fragile pokemon literally have no chance of survival late game, they just get deleted in an instant.

@@luckysqueaks984 We're not supposed to give them a chance to fight back if they're being reckless anyway. Gladly, the attack buff wasn't that much and absol still requires effort to play correctly. Unlike zeraora or zoroark that can put too much pressure and not let the enemy play the damn game COUGH COUGH.

@@TheHizaah Yeah, absol requires more skill than the other two but still, he can just one shot you out of a bush or run at you from behind, giving you no time to react. Zoroark and zeraora don't kill you in an instant, giving you a better chance for survival. I can see attacker mains starting to get paranoid towards absol players in the future xd

It's based on a Bai Ze, a mythical beast from ancient Chinese folklore. In many depictions, it has the head of a man or dragon and the body of a goat. In Japan, it often has the body of a cat. So it's a mixture of things, none of which are dogs lol.

These buffs are actually insane. Had many good matches today, with the highlight being 177k damage with 24kos and 2 pentas. Hopefully people will play absol more often and realize how good he actually is.

@@luckysqueaks984 they fed you so hard, i tried my best, but it's just impossible to do something with such a huge disadvantage, if you look at my team, i'm a player with about 7k matches total, 2 of my mates only had about 800, and 1 only 400, this matchmaking is so horrible, i get paired with player, whose skill level is so much lower then mine, but all of my enemies are about the same as mine

Absol is most likely based on the Bai Ze (白澤) of Chinese mythology, whose name literally translates to "white marsh." It is generally described as a white beast, distinguished by having one or two horns on its head. Considered to be an intelligent beast, Bai Ze is gifted with the ability to understand human speech and the knowledge on the forms and habits of 11,520 types of supernatural creatures in the world. In legend, Bai Ze shared its knowledge to the Yellow Emperor, which was subsequently compiled in a book called Bai Ze Tu. Few of its supposed fragments survive today. In Japan, it is known as the hakutaku (白沢) and is said to resemble a cat or lion. In a related legend, a similar creature known as the kutabe predicted that a plague would sweep through the Toyama Prefecture of Japan. Now that every popular pokemon has got nerf.. The center of the meta will revolve around buzzwole and intelleon.. This two are still heavy hitters which didnt receive any nerf.. Urshifu might still be in the meta.. But his usage will definitely reduce.. People are gonna blaziken and mew more.. I dont think people are gonna play absol much.. Because its really easy to outplay pursuit.. Just dont show your back to him.. Even if you are low hp.. Just spam basics.. Theres still survival chance.. If absol didnt crit and you survive. Heres a tip.. Use pursuit + press instantly sucker punch then basic attack.. That way you can always connect at the back of the pokemon.. (If he got stun by sucker punch) sometimes they dont get stun😢 and your dying chance increase... Also do this only when its a 1v1..if your try to do this in a group fight when you dont have a unite.. You will get stun and finish.

Never knew absol dealt true damage. Learn something new everyday. I'd say absol is a type of cat just really big compared to a house cat😅 as cats dont have enlongated snouts and dogs do. Absol has a small snout with rounded feature so if its supposed to be a dog they really messed up
