Watching the Matrix, in the beginning you see Neo sleeping on his desk and he has headphones in. I was really curious as what he was listening to, because you could hear the words and I found out it was this song. That's the day I discovered Massive Attack. One of the best music groups ever. @@daytonaschmidt4472 Ok, about the woke people thing though, back in the year 2000 most of them were actual human beings living outside of their electronic devices, which is kind of what the matrix is about, ya know, like free will and not plugging into the system, so, I'm sorry if as a 12 year old kid I was outside in the sunshine instead of trolling the internet and stuff. This song is literally the definition of the matrix. "Cause it feels like i've been. i've been here before. You are not my savior, but i still don't go. Feels like something that I've done before." This exactly Neo. In the 2nd matrix, we learn that this is the 6th iteration of the matrix. Neo is proclaimed to be the savior and he has done this before. He even states to Morpheus in the first film that he has always felt there to be something more than his life in the matrix isn't real... This song represents exactly what the maatrix is about, no wonder it was used the first time we see Neo!

Yup, definitely one of my faves by Massive attack. And for those of you who wonder what is the genre of this - there is no real answer. Or maybe there is - the genre is Massive attack :o) One of the things they became renown for was mixing different genres so even though they are considered "godfathers" of trip-hop you can't say all of their songs fit in trip-hop (few of them really do, actually :o) ). Btw, they considered themselves a HIP-HOP band in their beginnings (their debut - Blue lines).

It's really strange I just watched this movie 2 days ago. I've always found Massive Attack music to be interesting so I clicked on it. I didn't know it had footage from the movie immortal. I'm blessed to have a 3D copy of it and it is a really strange but very interesting movie. The song was really good just like most stuff I have heard by Massive Attack. I just thought it was really a strange coincidence. I hope that doesn't mean that my phone is watching what I'm watching.

Shame, such a shame I think I kind of lost myself again Day, yesterday Really should be leaving, but I stay Say, say my name I need a little love to ease the pain Need a little love to ease the pain It's easy to remember, when it came 'Cause it feels like I've been, I've been here before You are not my savior, but I still don't go Feels like something that I've done before I could fake it but I still want more Fade, made to fade Passion's overrated anyway Say, say my name Need a little love to ease the pain I need a little love to ease the pain It's easy to remember when it came 'Cause it feels like I've been, I've been here before You are not my savior, but I still don't go, oh I feel live something that I've done before I could fake it but I still want more, oh

Been listening to the beginning of the Matrix trying to find this song... the Matrix was the first R rated movie I ever saw. Still my favorite movie to this day. I'm 16 now but I was only like 10 at the time. I used to play FPS games on LAN with my dad and his buddies, and then I'd grab some ice cream and watch the Matrix with him. This song reminds me of those good ol' days I spent with my dad. I miss 2010-2013.

This is what I think of when I listen to this song: Location: 3am, East London, a large and dark warehouse flat, your chosen vice/substance is nearby/runs through you, it’s raining and this song plays. The stillness of nighttime, it’s calm, but you come alive at night, absorb the darkness and are somewhat energised by it, the opening rhythm is smooth, immediately causes deep questions to percolate within your mind, mainly, are you insane? But that can wait, time to fortify yourself with whatever you’ve been indulging in; drugs? drink? sex? 1:24 and you ask yourself if you are just ‘different’? Why though? And why does this type of music resonate with you so much? For some reason, it makes you look inside yourself and understand your own pleasure. This song is perfect when listened to alone, people don’t get it because, ‘it’s just electronic music’. But it isn’t though, is it? The song enters its adolescence, this feeling is something other, it causes your blood to pump faster and feel every beat, 2:35 and the riff seeps in, you can feel it from your brain down to your toes, 2:50, it’s euphoric, orgasmic, it’s a high. It calms down at 3:23, senses sharpened, feeling every drop of rain from outside, riff creeping back in around 3:45, you feel, just, slightly, bad. Are you a badass? Or are you just a lost soul with delusions of grandeur? Or perhaps both? Are you Jason Bourne? The song enters its last minute, you know it’s coming to an end, heartbeat slows, you forget everything and just think of how this beat gets you every time, consumes you - it fades, solitude was the only way to enjoy it.
