In my opinion, the best way to get a certain character is to save theonite and wait for his/her birthday. That shards conversion is just to get more money with whaling

Giant Step is definetly gonna become a "MUST HAVE" special move for all offensive bands, but on the other hands, i rly dont get the point on the new prestige activation(?

yeah, it's much easier to hit 10 combo hits than it is to wait 12-16 seconds for a special move to cooldown

Did you all forget that the prestige charges from the opponent doing specials as well? The defender spamming specials helps make up for any difference your Band might have. Also the PA is way stronger on d, since Band AI loves using Cymbal Clashes and other specials
