Being in the concrete business I've seen all kinds of neat toys to do these kinds of pours but some of their stuff is new even to me. That floor pour went very well and it looks like you've got yourself a quality finished job. Getting the floor in is a big step in the progress for sure.

the machine that is pulling the concrete is a laser screed. the machine at the end of the pump is what we call a spider is makes quick work of a interior floor pour. Kinda cool to get home from driving a mixer all day to watch one of my fav farm channels get mud delivered!

Thank you. So I’m guessing 26 trucks about 10 yards per truck conservatively $120 a yard. I hope they don’t have back to back bad years. We are in drought my part of the country while we were Tri-state area Illinois Missouri Iowa. Just got half an inch

Brian, it really looks good. In my youth in the late 70's I was a concrete laborer and the technology sure has changed since my time. It's still hard work but the nice equipment that your contractor has makes it a lot easier than it was in my time. We poured floors for huge warehouses and also the driveways and unloading areas for trucks. We also poured a lot of concrete walls for big apartment complexes and commercial buildings. We even poured a massive monolithic block of concrete for a huge machine at FMC Corporation. I was a young buck then at only 19-22 years old and could do that work, but today there is no way I could do it, not even with the high-tech power equipment. Congrats on your new floor and everything. Really enjoying your videos.

Fantastic technology. I'm thinking the concrete alone was around $45,000.00, not counting labor and machinery. This is the best pour I've seen online for some time. Hats off to the concrete contractor. Everything is looking good. Those drone shots added so much to the video, Brian.

Concrete mix should be between $150-$250/yard, depending on strength, additives and distance, so that would be between $45,000-$75,000 in materials. I'm sure the contract was somewhere between 2x and 3x material cost all said and done.

I agree all very very impressive. I watch a few other farming related YT channels including the millennial farmer, Larson Farms and Cole the Cornstar. They are all are big business operations with the attendant super expensive equipment and facilities. But I'm still amazed that your obviously very expensive 'shop' actually has a business case that justifies it. But there must be or you wouldn't be doing it! Good luck!

The new editor, who I'm assuming is also responsible for the random unnecessary bold subtitles, really messed up the sequence for the finish work. First shot; sawing the control joints and loading the last power trowel on to the trailer. Second and third shot ; trowels finishing up. Fourth shot; Brian talking about how the crew is waiting for the concrete to set up. Fifth shot; floating and starting with the walk behind trowel. Sixth shot: loading the ride on trowels on to the slab... Sixteenth shot: Brain talks about how they are almost done finishing and are preparing to cut control joints.

I only know about post-tension slabs because of warnings not to cut into a concrete slab. Any thoughts on Brian's floor regarding post tensioning ? "Post tension slab is a combination of conventional slab reinforcement and additional protruding high-strength steel tendons, which are consequently subjected to tension after the concrete has set. This hybridisation helps achieve the formation of a much thinner slab with a longer span devoid of any column-free spaces."
