It's really quite simple. You paint the base a water color, like a deep bluish green then apply a layer of acrylic/resin diorama effect using a pippette. Woodland Scenics makes a realistic water effect that works well although there are many other brands available that would work fine.

I only understood some of those words :( I'm only a simple man good sir! For me I'd paint the base around where the mini touches it a bright blue with some medium in it to keep it wet, then swirl in some white with a brush and call it done.

Nice work Benson. Re. the base, perhaps this might be a case where it's the first thing painted, at least the hard to get to bits?

I wiggled him by the head before I started painting and he popped right off the base for me with no problems. Some of the massive darkness minis seem to come off of the base with very little effort, while others are stuck down hard.

Ahh. I tried that too. Mine is well stuck :-( glad this one popped off for you though much make painting the base a lot easier!

I love your MD clips. I stuck in my Zombicide Black Plague Projekt at the moment (22 Survivors Andreas 4 Abominations left). But your painting looks like having so much fun, that i wanne paint Thema two. Nice Job, i need more! 😎

Thanks Kay! Really appreciate that :-) oooh, I have lots of Zombicide left to do still! There’s a zombicide video on my Patreon at the moment, they get early access to things, little perk for them :-) I painted Xuxa, she’s one of my fav, and the paint job is pretty good!

Nice work! If you're trying to match the artwork, another thing you missed is the black on the tips of all those sharp bony bits... Agnes is adorable, BTW :-D

Ahhh so many artwork mistakes! Benson never has the card in front of him, so its harder for him to check, but I'll continue to nag him :-D I'll let him know Agnes got her first mention :-D He'll be chuffed.

Great job! Ironic that you posted one of the largest minis I have and I posted one of the smallest. Each brings it's own set of issues. I'm honestly scared still to paint a large mini like this. Anything I should be aware of going into one?

Haha! Avoid this one as long as you can. It’s horrible. It’s all fiddly. Loads of hard to get to bits, the creature and he art don’t look exactly the same either. Benson really didn’t enjoy this guy :-(
