I mean if you're not tearing open the Beauty Glazed palette, it shouldn't matter if it's made with asbestos products. The way that asbestos works is that it doesn't become harmful unless it's wearing down/ getting torn apart/splintering. The fear with asbestos is breathing in little sliver shards that will then eff up your lungs, so the big concern with using it in building materials is that it's around for tens or hundreds of years and it wearing down is a given thing. Asbestos in a makeup palette isn't a great practice, but it's also not as big a concern since the makeup will go bad before the palette does 90% of the time. But definitely do not de-pot that one, just in case.

This is the most THOROUGH information I have received in regards to this whole debacle. I tend to only de-pot smaller Colourpop palettes or just buy singles in general, so me deciding to de-pot wouldn’t have even been a thought. As long as I use the palettes before expiration, I won’t have to worry about the issue with the asbestos? The palette doesn’t have an expiration date listed on the packaging, so would it still be safe to use anyways?

@@AliciaDawn I really think that it would just come down to what shape the palette itself is in. If there aren't beat-up edges or holes or anything, I can't think of any way that it could harm you, even if there is asbestos in it. I think as long as the palette and all the packaging components stay in good shape, you should absolutely be safe to use the eyeshadows. It's still kind of a scary concept that they're using 50's insulation in their packaging, lol, but honestly from everything that I know about asbestos (an embarrassing lot; I essentially have a full college semester's work of knowledge about it) it's a really, really low risk factor.

Of course I will be watching them!!! Declutter videos are some of my favorite to watch!!! Also love filming them as well for my channel. Gives me the inspiration/motivation to be more aware of what I have and actually use instead of just keeping everything and being overwhelmed. I did a declutter series in December and ended up with a large Ulta box overflowing and was able to find them new homes with 4 of my friends!!!

I know the feeling. I was looking at something on Mercari back in May of last year, she luckily got my number before they removed it, and we’ve been such good friends since then. She lives about 1&1/2 hours away but we talk almost every day and try to get together every month or so for a girls day. Where are you at?

That is awesome! I’m in NC. Life has been pretty hectic lately, and I’ve been wanting to create more looks but got completely overwhelmed with the amount of palettes that I have and that ultimately inspired this purge. I’m hoping that going through these palettes and clearing up some space (I STILL have to order another set of storage drawers 🙄) will allow me to create with a clear mind. ☺️🤞🏾

I saw another KZbinr where she would depot the colors she didn’t want in a palette and put the colors she wanted to keep into it. A big switch-a-roo. Then declutter the palette with the colors she wasn’t using and passed along to a friend or family member. Maybe u can take those 4 colors u like from the j cat palette and put them in with the purples and blues u like. Just a thought 🤔 Enjoyed the video! Can’t wait to see the others! 😊❤️💄

Unfortunately my family has NO interest in makeup, but they are totally supportive of my love for it. I don’t have any (close by) makeup friends or else I would’ve easily just given it to them. I’m gonna start to shop my stash and declutter throughout the year, but I wanted to jumpstart it with this declutter. I reached my 1st and 2nd goal already in this series. I’m hoping to get rid of 125 by the finale video and by the end of this year declutter an extra 50. I am also going to do a : “1 comes in, 1 goes out” to keep my spending practical. ☺️

the first palette from tarte looks very similar to the iconic londan day to slay palette i’m assuming it was limited edition so if anyone wanted that for the color story they could get a alternative but it’s very similar to a lot of neutral palettes i still have mine i love it but again very similar to others in my collection// i love this declutter series so far watching the entire playlist i just watched pt 3 so i’m bingeing 🤣❤️

Not true, that is a misconception! Alter Ego is a brand new company that was formed by some of the old Bad Habit employees that got laid off when Shop Hush closed. They were still in touch with the factory that Bad Habit used so the palettes have a similar formula and packaging but it's a completely separate company from Bad Habit. Shop Hush owned Bad Habit and they sold them to Morphe. They still exist, but as a skincare brand (they have it at Ulta). I know an employee who works for Alter Ego so that's the full story.
