I have fallen in the shower twice in the past 3 months. The first time, I landed on the toilet and broke it in half and ended up with the shower curtain on top of me. There's no video footage that I'm aware of otherwise I'd have sent it in.

My wife is running her first marathon after major surgery. (Not her first marathon, her first one after getting back into them from having had the surgery). There was a truck driving along that kept trying to pass her with about a mile and a quarter left so that it could lay out those guard rails. Some friends and I kept laying down in front of it until she finished.

@@iudoncare6360 I could see how some cities would only grant the organizers a permit _if_ they promise to have the roads opened again _before_ rush hour starts. There'd just be too much chaos/complaints, otherwise. The reason that organizers stick to it, even if it screws participants over, is because they want to be granted permission for future events too :) (I do not *know* this; it's just my best guess)

@@johndoe6032 I knew a woman who traveled all over North America to do marathons and ultra marathons. It seemed like she was off every weekend. She was by no means in the high income bracket, so she must have spent most of her disposable income on it. I asked her once if she ever won. She said no. I asked if she had realistic hopes of ever winning. She said no, that she was good, but not elite. She just hoped to do a bit better every time. I ask why does she have to travel thousands of miles to do that? Why can't she just run a measured distance here, like at a school running track, or on the city pathways? We just stared at each other, thinking the other was nuts.

The conveyor is a ride at Oktoberfest in Munich called 'Toboggan'. 1 out of 5 people that went up that belt ate it in spectacular fashion. My wife and I stood there for a solid 20 minutes drinking and laughing at people falling down. Good times.

Ahhhh good old Toboggan! That sort of giant treadmill going upwards is an Oktoberfest tradition, it leads to a slide you can go down on one of those carpets the dude was carrying. All the dudes in yellow shirts are employees. The rest are poor sods getting drinker and drinker as the day continues and causing a shitload of entertainment for all the onlookers. You wouldn't believe the stunts that go on there, in one night I saw more than a couple dudes completely tear their shirts apart during bad landings.
