This was turning into a "stovepipe" nest of bald faced hornets. It was built against the metal garage door. The paper cannot attach well and so the egg chamber begins to slide down. The hornets then paper over what's above the egg chamber. As a result, you get very tall and skinny nests

I commend you for not only doing a good job, and documenting it all, but so far having nerves of steel while doing it. Their sound alone is scary let alone when you see them trying to sting you through your protective suit and you're talking about their nest very calmly. You have earned a like and a subscribe from me :)

Question: aren't hornets (and all wasps) dormant at night? I would think it would be easier to scout the situation and get set up during the day, then come back at night to remove the nest. I see that you, as a professional, operate differently, so I assume it doesn't work like I think. But why? Don't you get stung doing it like this? (Or is your gear that hornet proof? Maybe I'm answering my own question here?)

It's not really feasible to run 45 jobs at night so we use dust that can be done during the day They absolutely wake up and get active if you attack the nest at night. Hornet/wasp spray says to do it at night because they will avoid it when they return so you have to get them all in one shot with the cheap stuff

"All wasps and hornets are beneficial. Homeowners can appreciate that they protect gardens and landscapes from pests like caterpillars, spiders and aphids and pollinate blooming plants." "Wasps have a strong sense of smell, which they use to find food sources. You can take advantage of this trait by using scents they dislike, such as peppermint, lemongrass, clove, and geranium essential oils, vinegar, sliced cucumber, bay leaves, scented herbs, and geranium flowers."

@TheBeeMan
@TheBeeMan 2 жыл бұрын
It's an Exacticide duster and ehhhhhhh its tough to recommend It's a brilliant duster but it breaks a lot. The problem is every other duster I've tried breaks a lot, too. If it were more reliable I'd recommend it 100 times out of 100. So maybe have a backup duster for when it goes out Also, technicide charges an awful lot of money for a painters pole which can be had for 1/3 the price on eBay, as well as hoses and batteries that can be found for cheaper So definitely worth looking into
