You are sooooo right about the perception of people towards those who wear more Indian clothes as compared to western outfits!!! I am sooooooooo comfortable in Indian wear and I get this comment all the time, “why dont you wear more western!?” I mean, why do i need to dress a certain way to look ‘cool’ or ‘modern’??? I love my western clothes but Indian wear just makes me look so much more feminine and comfortable❤❤❤oh and also, you look slimmer in pants!! So?? I want to look fat, lo!!!😅not giving up my kurtas just to look slimmer! 😮🎉

Yes, I completely agree with the perception of Indian wear. I am 33 years old, and have the same feeling. Growing up, Indian wear was something that only married women of 'small towns' and 'villages' wore. Western wear was perceived to be cooler and was very aspirational. I remember very shy and uncomfortable when I had to wear salwar suit to school as uniform (I studied in KV). I am glad things are changing now.
