Hi David ! I’m catching up on your Kenyan videos. I haven’t seen the earlier ones yet and am about to watch this one . Indian people have been in Kenya for centuries . The Kenyans and Indian Kenyans have intermingled their food. The Kenyans eat Roti, chicken curry etc . In the UK we have Indian restaurants Kenyan style . Also the Indian languages spoken in Kenyan are not pure Indian . There’s a lot of Swahili words integrated in the Indian language . 🌺

To be honest, Chapati has always been known to be Indian, but i want to put something straight, during the slavery in East Africa, our beloved ancestors already used to do this. in school we were taught history according to the colonizers which was so heavifly reducted to make the white man feel safe. Im so glad t be part of changing our narrative and educating our youth. Africa is way more precious than what you see in the news

Oh wow!!! Good morning David. This video was so enjoyable to watch. I can see the influence of African food in other countries and especially in the Caribbean because of slavery. Did you know that some slaves weren't allowed to cook their own type of food because of their slave owners and masters. It was after the emancipation that they started cooking their food. I will stand corrected if I am wrong. All the food is so healthy.: we cook the cabbage that way too. I have never soaked my chapati the way they do, maybe I should try that. You see, these videos show how we can adapt to different types of cooking. So, as you move away from the 'slums', I hope people would now start to understand your agenda. How can you not love the people, when they are s-o-o-o NICE and friendly. Tasos and his friend seem to enjoy themselves as well. I am truly enjoying the series so far. I love the progression from place to place. Very well done. You know at the end of every series, I tend to give an overview, so look out for that. So now it's on to Mombasa, so see you there. Take care David and be safe wherever you are right now. God bless 🙏💛🇹🇹🇨🇦

Judy how are you dear. I do know the enslaved africans in America and some caribbean islands were forbidden from playing drums because the plantation owners feared they would communicate secret messages to nearby plantations and plot rebellions and uprisings. Barbados 🇧🇧. Is a small island with many plantations surrounding each other therefore African drumming was not permitted.

@@marlenepollard4982 hi Marlene. How are you. I saw your comment. Glad to see you back. Yeah girl, the slaves weren't allowed to do anything except for what they were told. Thank God for emancipation. Too bad that Americans don't understand the whole story of slavery in America. And now some politicians don't even want it taught. Shall we say that they are acting like the Talibans and ISIS? Anyway have a great day. They are talking about a big storm coming so let's see what happens.
