The Girls is a fantastic book; just adding to your speculation so that you don't go into it thinking that it's about the lighter side of that time period. It's a dark & intense story about acceptance & how elusive it can seem to be when typical teenage thinking & insecurities come into play. The storyline involves a 'family' that's eerily close to the Manson family. This isn't spoilery info; I promise you! I hope that you enjoy it. :-)

The Girls is really great writing. I literally felt sticky reading it because of the description of how they live and eat, etc. So amazing!

I absolutely LOVE "Of Fire and Stars". I think the plot was super interesting, and the character development is interesting. The slight murder-mystery in it is really good too. I just...its so great. 10/10.

I'd have to say Jane Eyre is my favorite book too! It's cool to know that someone else feels the same way about it! I always try to get people to read it, but it's very difficult. Also, I loved "The Invention of Wings" If you've read "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd, you'll adore this story as well! Historical fiction is just an amazing genre.📚✨

Dorothy Must Die is at least a 4 book series. The End Of Oz just released in the UK. This morning, I received Hunted, Lost In A Book and The Night Circus all in hardcover from the US. I'm live in England, where we don't really get hardcovers often so I'm glad that Amazon ships worldwide.

Hey, if you're interested in family drama, I recently read Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng and loved it! It's about a Chinese American family in the 60s (I think), whose eldest daughter ends up drowned in the lake and they are trying to work out what happened to her. It's told through the parents and brother and sister which was really interesting. It's a really thin book too!

Hunted was really good, I enjoyed it. Can't wait to read Traitor to the Throne! The Hate U Give yes, can't wait to get to this one too. I got the ARC of Crown of Wishes ahhh need to read it soon, Star Touched Queen was fantastic. Just got the Valiant, it looked interesting since there's no female gladiator books like ever. Dorothy Must Die ah I just finished her last book it was a fun series would be good to binge read all of them. I haven't read any Morgan Matson books lol maybe I should. Wow such a good haul!

Just another great review to a book you're definitely reading, but just finished The Hate U Give and it was amazing. I laughed and cried, the characters are amazing, and it opened my eyes to the realness of situations I just have never understood. As an added bonus, I know the author grew up in a poor black neighborhood in Jackson, MS and then went to a private college where she heard a lot of the stupid stuff we white people say about these shootings. So for her senior project, she began to explore these feelings and wrote the beginnings of this book. She is not writing out of assumption of this must be what it's like. She doesn't preach. She just writes the truth in her characters and story and it leaves you gut punched. I just wish I could suggest it to more people without them being offended by the language or assumptions they bring to the book.
