I really hope this doesn’t come off as rude because I’m wanting to make soul food for my entire family, but especially my youngest. I have adopted him (he’s my nephew) mad he is half Mexican and half black. I’m Spanish but also grew up with my aunt and uncle who are white. I have learned to make authentic Mexican food for my own desires. Im wanting to learn how to make soul food so that my son grows up knowing these amazing dishes. I’ve reached out to his bio father and asked if there were any dishes his mother made that he didn’t mind sharing the recipes for and never got a response back. I want to do things right.
