Thank you for being a fellow wildlife lover....I too have around 7 or 8 raccoons who visit every night.....They bring me so much love and laughter and are amazing.....they eat from my hand and can even pet a few....they just started coming around this spring after my cat of 17 yrs passed away....I believe they were a gift from Heaven to heal my broken heart and they have....People always have the wrong idea about raccoon and I thank you for showing what truly amazing and gentle creatures they are> God Bless you and your family

@@TraciMoore1 I love wildlife too...I have a large bird feeder post setup where I put 10-13 feeders out for the birds. I put stove pipe up so the raccoons couldn't get to the bird feeders.....well.....something was getting those feeders when I get up in the morning and I thought "How can those raccoons get around that stove pipe.....that was until I saw a deer nibbling the food in the feeders.....I don't have an answer for that yet.....but I'm guessing I going to have to start feeding deer so they will leave my bird feeders alone.....HAHA....

@@stevegardner74 lol I guess when you start feeding wildlife they tell all their furry friends!!!! Its always great to meet other people who enjoy the wildlife as I do....You could get some grains for the deer and maybe a salt lick....maybe then they will leave your bird feeders for the birds....I know it can get costly but so worth it :)

Sometimes you find kind people like you BUT most of the time you have trash who would mistreat or hunt the raccoons. I feed chipmunks, squirrels, bird of all kinds in my back yard. I used to have an opposum that came at around midnight even when it is frozen solid but it had stopped coming and I think it may have died because opposums live for only 3 years or so...It is nice to see there are still kind people to other creatures...

You need to put fresh water out for the raccoons to drink they vet thirsty to snd some like to clean their food. Please look at James Blackwood the Racoon Whisper. He knows alot about racoons and been feeding them for a very long time soon after his wife passing. But yes the raccoons need water to drink. Please set up a clean bucket to full up some water. You feed the racoons well full belly is good you do. Try give them chicken dogs. James Blackwood feeds them that and boy they go to town on them. And peanuts butter sandwiches. They will love them oh and graps to. James Blackwood feeds them that and they truly love that every night . You do good bless your heart for taking care of them . The racoons there ate truly happy

Usually adults coonies will move on and leave to younger coonies. After they grow big enough, they will move to find own territory as well.

Yes they do and that is usually what happens. The mothers do get tired of nursing their babies. In time the babies grow and they grow pretty fast. Throughout the years they will come back. Some develop certain behaviors that we recognize when they come back which is pretty neat.
