Just a mention? Chickens love greens and herbs and scraps! You could use extra and unwanted to cut your Summer Feed and ferment... plus do as others, where They DO your Composting FOR you! Just a thought....

Last year my garden was a mess of weeds because I couldn’t keep up! This year I decided to down size. Still growing too many tomato’s for one small family but I have the most fun growing them. I had to buy my plants this year because the soil I bought to grow them held on to moisture too much and they died 😢 rotted. Thanks for being real. I love watching your channel because I can relate to so much!

Baker Creek is so generous. We went there on our way back home from visiting family. Sept 2021. Hardly anyone there and we just walked around. When we were in their pepper field, an employee flagged us down telling us to pick all the peppers we want, we are sick of looking at them😂

Just an idea. They don't have to make pretty carrots to make big roots in rocky soil, but they might help break your ground up some, if you just sow them and water them good and they do their thing, pushing deep as they can, it wouldn't matter if you get anything to eat off of them or not.

Fun video! I agree, it can be stressful to overplant, I never learn my lesson lol. Hahaha! The chickens looked scared of the bugs.

That is so awesome to go to a seed auction. It looks like it paid off for you. Glad to hear that you'll get a few days to get in your garden. I can't wait to see all the flowers you're going to plant. It's going to be beautiful!

OMG I would freak if I had that amount of weeds. I've learned to plant intensively and put a good 5 inches or more of mulch on all the beds. (grass clippings, rabbit poo and wood chips) We love our twice a day salads fresh picked from the garden. We have Ancona ducks and Chocolate Muscovy. The Muscovy meat is just like beef but better in our opinion. The hens make the best momma's ever. The Muscovy do fly so we have ours in a large aviary setting with perches and lots of huts and coops to next in. Our Ancona ducks are our bug catcher ducks and roam around our backyard when we free range them.

I’m not thrilled with the weeds but not much I can do at this point so I’ll just make the best of it until the cabbages are done then I’ll burn it to the ground!

Woooaa!! That is Crazy amazing!!! AHHH I have been looking for Long beans I am so happy you got them. I want to do a trellis and grow long beans on them. I think it would be fun to try and freeze dry them too. Wink wink. Wow how fun. i am so happy to see all you got! Maybe you could do a seed giveaway for some subscribers or something. I would join for the long beans of course hahahaha Happy to see you again!

I was thinking about something like that, I have way more than I can use so whatever can’t be chicken feed like the zinnias and cabbage I’ll do something with. Freeze dry for sure! If you email me your P.O. Box I can send you some of the king beans when I have time

hahaha....I love watching the Great Chicken Race. Why chick's grab food and run around screaming, I've yet to determine. But, it's so entertaining. Good looking chicks. My line is doing fantabulous this year! I'll have to grab pics of my pullets. Wow are they lookers. The 30 Red Rangers/Jackies/Sassos are 6 weeks now and some will be ready around June 1st. I picked out a smaller cockerel and two lovely sweet pullets to add weight to my line. We've got four lambs on the ground. Two boys, two girls. You should try sheep. They're much, much easier than pigs and who doesn't love lamb?
@FermentedHomestead15 күн бұрын
Me, I can’t stand lamb 🤢 it tastes like a watered down foot

@@FermentedHomestead HAHAHA... You've likely only eaten wool sheep, and butchered too old and shipped in from NZ/Aussie. That's where 80% of American lamb comes from. I raise hair sheep. No sheering. No greasy meat. No funky flavor. These are Katahdins, specifically bred for eatin. Maybe someday you can drive down and have some chops or burgers and let me change your mind. ;-) Wait till Dan the Man and Joey are ready...9 mths or so and we'll be snackin!

They are super cheap because they are the defects they catch during quality control. So these would be excess from the previous season, not true to type, low germination rate, etc.
