The audacity of these two was unbelievable! It was obvious the woman was scolding the horse and the girl, her self absorption was a bit unnerving. Not reading the cues of the horse, the guard or anyone else around her is pretty telling and the woman was just as bad! To continue to pester the poor horse after being bitten is stupid, but twice or three times is intentionally cruel. Another perfect example of why there should be no contact at all with the horses by the public. People are going to continue to treat the guards like petting zoo attendants and the horses like petting zoo exhibits as long as they allow people to touch the horses and the fact that it’s a functioning military facility will continue to be of no consequence, which is shameful. Huge respect to guards and horses for this kind of crap they have to deal with every hour on duty!

Agreed. There doesn't need to be a physical barrier, either. They have white lines painted in the courtyard, to mark where to stand when the guard is changing. Just draw some boxes around the front of the horse station. "Do not cross this line." Still have space on sidewalk for pedestrians. Everyone wins.

My youngest brother is a farrier and his words of advice to me were, 'Stay away unless you know how to read a horse and it's mood.' Considering he's the one that handles all the high strung 'dangerous problem' horses and does so successfully tells me he knows what he's talking about. An animal with that amount of strength, power, and training should command respect and caution to anyone with an IQ above that of a sea cucumber. She should try that with Ormonde. You could see on several occasions that he was getting very aggravated but he remained cool. But after the fifth time, he had it. But that is so true, they are massive animals and if spooked they could be very dangerous, I am sure that thought goes through the heads of the guards all the time.. They are very patient and don't want to mean, so they tolerate a lot. Yes, Ormonde....I just love her!! How I wish I could visit one day to see her. She is magnificent and beautiful!! And commands respect!! I wish the airline tickets weren't so expensive from the US, and with the taxes being twice as much as the tickets, it is expensive to make it to Europe. But hopefully one day. I probably go every day so that I could Ormonde. I never thought I would fall in love with a horse...❤.😅 It is clear she is also very intelligent. She is truly special!! 😊

How else are the guards going to protect people from themselves but to yell at them? The horse has bitten her more than once and she still puts her hand near its mouth. I’m glad this was filmed. The horse might have gotten into some serious trouble if it bit her fingers or hand off. The video shows her clearly offering her hand up to be bitten.

People just assume that once an animal taste human blood they have developed a taste for it so they are put down. Dogs that bite a burglar, in their home - are automatically put into quarantine. Then the owner winds up with a lawsuit from the burglar. Lawyers will tell their client to put the dog down to avoid going to court. People who go to a farm and see a horse in the field will stop and call the horse over. The people thinks that because they are near the road that the horse has to be friendly. Then once they get bit sue the horse owner. Same as the dog, Get rid of it . Had a co-worker who had a farm and a neighbor would bring their kids over. She didn’t know ow this was happening cause it would happen whenever she was a work. The house bit one of the kids, they went to the ER, the doctor said the child will have a scar on her arm where the horse bit them. They reported the bit to the police, who contacted animal control. Animal control then immediately put the horse into quarantine for 45 days. Within that time she received a letter suing the owner for 1 million dollars. Everyone advised her to just put the animal down. She didn’t. She won her case, at the end the judge told her that the horse only got this once free chance. If another human gets bit, the animal control has the right to put the animal down right away. Even though it’s not the horses fault. It has tasted human blood. That cannot be allowed. After hearing that story from my coworker, my mouth dropped. The horse did nothing wrong but it had a mark against it because someone else did the wrong thing.

These Beautiful intelligent Horses are very proud of their service and have a job to do and while they try to be kind it is too much at times to expect them to be touched and messed with so often .
