I built an xmaxx. I was wondering if you could do a video on installing an M2C motor mount with a Hobbywing 1100kv without cutting the chassis on xmaxx. I am having trouble with my mesh and it’s V’ing my pinion and spur. Scag gears is what I use
@richduperbash2966 Жыл бұрын
Hey Troy 🤗. I'll have to look again, but believe minor modification is necessary to run the 1100kv HW and M2C mount. Pretty sure Avery with M2C posted an install vid on the M2C website. Setting the mesh should be straightforward with the sliding adjustable motor plate and side screws. I'll see if I can link the video. Depending on your gearing, most people have to snip or Dremel the thin plastic chassis cross piece that sits below the rear motor endbell. Otherwise the bigger 1100 won't slide down enough to obtain proper mesh. 🍻

Always feel great when watch your video, best basher for me. I’ve built Kraton 8s like your build.full m2c, max5. 2028 motor,... It’s a beast now. Now I want to get a more bashing car, have DBXL E2.0 fully upgraded with aluminum (so can not bash, only speed and race), and Kraton 8s. How about getting one Xmaxx or XRT? Traxxas XRT seems to have the same style as the Kraton 8s, so which one do you prefer for extreme bashing?
@richduperbash2966 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. Awesome to hear about your built K8s Beast and DBXL-E 😍. The XMaxx and XRT are definitely both way lighter and handle completely different from each other. Both require considerable upgrading for harder use and better electronics to reach their potential. After getting most weakpoints sorted, I enjoy both. The XMaxx for pure stunting and XRT for speed, drifting, and far superior handling. The chassis's and bulkheads can sometimes break and the gears aren't hardened steel like the ARRMA's, but they are both fun no question 😜

The MT41O is a fun truck and a wonderful build with awesome colored/detailed manual. It handles great with it's racing focused design base. That said, mine is highly modified with M2C Racing chassis, braces, towers, CVD's driveshafts, top plate..etc. Realize the kit comes with plastic motor mount bits, spur gear, shock caps, shock lowers, and servo horn...all of which required upgrading. The stock truck is tough, but overall durability is largely overrated online, depending on your use and expectations. 4-5s is actually just fine with the right power and gearing 🍻

@richduperbash2966 Жыл бұрын
@@jd111949 I've done a few bench videos through the years on diffs and shocks with the ARRMA 6s rigs, but none with the XRT. In general, diff fluid should be replaced around every 20+ runs or whenever there's a suspected problem. Shock fluid can last longer because there's much less heat involved and no gears. Maintaining bearings is a priority, but there's no exact regimen I follow. Really depends on conditions you bash in. WD-40 Silicone Spray works great after driving in wet conditions to keep them alive. Otherwise I bearing oil or replace bad or failing bearings as needed. Kevin Talbot and others have done several how to vids with the XMaxx which uses the same internal gears as the XRT. Doing your own work is the best way to really learn these rigs.
