There was a time the thrift stores wouldn't even take the Readers Digest condensed books. They were everywhere. Being a voracious reader, I happened to enjoy those books and it delights me to no end to see them being used more and more in decorating. (The stories inside are pretty good too) You have had tremendous, good fortune when it comes to furniture. Kudos to you!

Oh wow that's crazy! My thrift stores don't actually have a whole lot of them, but I think a lot of them are so pretty for decorating! Maybe I need to look at the stories to, I might end up being interested in reading one :). I have been very blessed with furniture! Praise God for that! Thanks so much for watching!

Hi! New to your channel! I love thrifting & antiquing! I collect lots of different things.. primitive pieces, antiques, old vintage things & regency/Victorian era things! I just have a deep love for anything old! And thru collecting & my Utube friends, I've learned so much! And google Lens is one of my best friends too😄 I collect old books, but i make sure they're 1964 or older.. unless its a coffee table book or one I'm going to use the pictures inside for framing. I collect old bibles, hymnals & piano books also. I really love my bibles, my oldest is a leather back from 1849, its a very special one to me! I collect art & ornate frames also. Mostly old photos or old paintings of people. My favorite ones are the regency or Victorian pieces..I really love the tiny frames & the pictures in them you thrifted! And the picture on the wall behind you❤ I don't know if you use google Lens, but it works on anything you take a photo of..i use it mainly on my thrifted pieces, but it works on plants or animals or literally anything! I would use it on the little pictures, you may find out the age & worth! Also, you could use a little rub & buff on the little detailed edges of the black frame, to give it that older look if that's the look you like. You can't always find the rectangle frames, good find! If I find one i don't like the art in I'll still grab it, you can always change it out, same with art, you can always find a different frame! I love gallery walls, but i love the empty frame walls to too! I have lots of coffee table books & love using pictures from them to frame! I have several Currier & Ives, some on old art, on antiques, same on the Victorian era & others.. I use them as coffee table books, but i mostly use them for the art. If you frame a page from a book or magazine, an old card or even the side of a pretty gift bag.. there's a simple mod podge hack that makes them look like a real painting! You can Utube it if you ever want to try it! Ohhh goodness i LOVE the large piece, that's gorgeous! The way the painting goes into the mat is so cool! I never mind a chip or a little damage, like you said it adds character. Definitely a great find! The sconces are really pretty! And so Is the larger one. I like putting the battery operated candles in them sometimes, and sometimes I'll use regular candles, depends where i put them. I wish so badly that i would have kept alot of the things my mom & grandma had! I use the square jars on my kitchen sink to put my scrub brush & sponge in, works out great! My husband would like the Indian statues, he's native american, his mom family is Cherokee. I have a little too, my grandma's grandma was Cherokee. The frame around the fan picture is really pretty. About 85-90% of my home is thrifted! I've been going to yard sales & thrift stores for a really long time.. you really can find amazing things! Antique stores are much higher, but i love antiques & I find some good deals.. if you collect you'll love it! We're in the process of moving from Tennessee to Florida, we owned a really big thrift store for over 4yrs. We didn't shop for it, everything was donations, estate sale left overs, house clean outs. Really amazing things always came in! We had the biggest thrift store in our area & was known to take in these things to support the men's recovery home we also had. I miss it pretty bad😕 Our prices were very reasonable but like i said, it supported a good cause.. we were non profit, not state funded. And we always helped out people/families in need with whatever they needed. God truly blessed us! But Gods leading us into anot!her chapter, another journey. Just ready to get settled & find all good stores😁 I would google Lens the elephant piece, it looks like a nice piece! I've found some things that really shocked me how much they were worth! The chair is really nice! Those are Upholstery tacks which hold the material on.. really pretty detail! The bakers rack is beautiful❤ another piece i would google Lens😉 Did he tell you the age of it? It may not be old, but i check everything.. lots of times in the store to see if its worth the price marked. Found some great finds that way also!😁 I have a couple old bakers racks, nothing worth anything, i used them on my porch for plants. The weather didn't get to them, its a very large covered porch. I collect old wood chairs, with or without the upholstery. I use them for decor, most are too old to sit in😄 Like I said i love wood & they are so pretty! That's A pretty one! You really have a nice haul! Great pieces! Well i know I've written a book, I'm a big chatterbox😄 But that's how you get to know people! I've learned so much & made some amazing, Jesus loving friends here! Enjoyed the video & the scripture! Have A blessed rest of your week😊 & I subscribed😉

I agree! Thrift stores have gotten too high. I usually don't go anymore or when I do go, I leave empty handed. You found some cute deals tho

I leave empty handed a lot to! One of mine had a small picture frame priced at $8 and I was like “I could buy it new for near that price”, it is frustrating. Thank you for watching!

I love everything you got! I'm doing my room and kitchen in the cottagecore decor and I'm trying to get a lot of the same style pieces you picked up. Question: what do you use to hang your pictures? Lol I typically use thumb tacks. But I'm trying to find something better. But maybe I'll just stick to thumb tracks. 😅 I don't like using nails because we rent. 🙈
@dearmikaila4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I love the cottagecore style, it is so homey feeling to me. I actually hang my pictures with either thumbtacks as well and Command picture hanging strips, the command strips hold up so well and look nicer I think then other methods I have tried. You can grab them at Walmart! Thanks for watching!!
