You know - he should Ardith!! He had a tile job while we were getting through college, so he knew well enough to shudder when I wanted the marble up the wall! But he did it anyway, the sweet guy. How about an update? Is it still working well? Any thoughts on things you might do differently now?

I don’t know where you live but in Minnesota installing a tiled shower without a membrane that extends on to the walls first is not code. It needs to be inspected before tiling and the membrane has to hold water for 48 hours before you can proceed to tile . If you tried to do that here the inspector would make you tear it out. Check with local codes before trying this

The baseboard should have been applied with thinset first and then the first row of tile sitting on the baseboard not gluing it to the first row of tile. Too much grout in corners at floor. G:rout in grout lines looks uneven. I see chips in tile on the floor of the bathroom. Are you. using a transition piece between the engineered wood floor and tile? That grout line is uneven and it is missing some grout. No thinset on wall just on tile? Or was that mastic on wall? And the tile was not completely covered in thinset or mastic. Not a good idea.
