I did a black wash on mine to bring out the detail and I absolutely love him! I think I like him more than the 1000Toys Chief.

Also, the pistol can peg into Chief's leg! The plates with the slot in them can be pulled out and flipped around to reveal a storage peg.

The little slot where the pistol goes on both legs pop off and can be reverse fit to have a pet sticking out much like the one on his back behind the thrusters. Thanks to Anthony Customs for pointing that out!

He is listed at 6.5 inch scale and that is correct. Gotta remember that spartans were way taller than humans. If we get any marines or odst they will be smaller and all scale appropriately

You know..there may not be as much paint as we'd all like, the AR is a little small, and there a couple other small issues; but this really is a solid figure. I really like the way he looks, even if he doesn't look quite as good as the prototype. I remember when it was revealed that WCT would be taking on the Halo action figure line, and I really didn't know what to think. I'd seen the Fortnite figures, but wasn't a huge fan of the game, so I couldn't really make much from them. That being said, when these figures were shown at Toyfair, I couldn't have been more excited. While not quite as detailed as the McFarlane figures, and not quite scaled down to your usual Marvel Legends figures--but that doesn't mean they're bad for their scale. Overall, these figures seem promising, and do remember; this is just the first batch of these guys. A "test run", if you will. WCT seems to care about Halo fans, and that's pretty respectable.

Gun dows clip to his leg where you held it. If you back to his right thigh on the outside thigh the green pops off flips round and creates a peg for his pistol.

11:59 Just found out you can put the pistol on the hip. This toy was pretty clever. Those panels on his outee thigh can pop off and you flip them around theres the peg. Had this toy forever and just learned. Wtf. Lol

Would the joyride weapons scale better with this chief because I do think that assault rifle is too small. It's a shame they skimped on paint for the weapons as well. I guess the budget all went to the chrome visor.

Thanks for posting! I’ve been waiting so goddamn long to have good Halo figures again. Hoping I can find some soon! My biggest issue with Chief here is that they inexplicably painted the sort of lower chest armor black on the sides instead of having the whole thing be green like it is in both the game and the World Of Scale figure, but fuck it, I’m still buying him. Really liking the look of these figures so far - they seems to have the same kind of retro charm and chromed visors as the old joyride figures, while incorporating even better articulation than the McFarlane ones had. Hoping to find some at my local targets this week!

You could try heating it up to soften the glue, then reposition it.

The thigh detail you mentioned isn't glued in! And if you pull on it it pops out, then you can stick it in backwards and use the peg on it to hold the hand gun!

Hey man, Great review! I suggest buying some silicone shock oil for those leg joints to remove the squeaking. Just put a dab, not too much.

Neither. It feels like hard, but smoothish plastic. Mcfarlane had a rough paint feel while Mattel was kinda rubbery sort of.
