I was once rejected for a potentially great job in the air force when I was re-branching from the army. Rather than taking my anger and frustration out on the recruiter who was simply relaying the bad news and wanted to know what I wanted to do next, I took a moment and calmed myself down, I told him to give me the rest of the week to make my decision. I gave myself the day to feel sorry for myself but that tomorrow I’d keep my head high and think things through that very day I heard back from the recruiter and he told me the unit I was interested in applying for was willing to take me on as excess. I was so happy that I kept my cool instead of burning bridges. Sometimes it really isn’t the end of the world and by being a professional you can expect that courtesy to be rewarded. Stay strong Spartans! I and the Chief believe in you!
