Master Class Series - Vaganova Master Class Day 1

Day 1 of Vaganova Master Class 2021 with Mr Ilya Shcherbakov.
The Vaganova method is a ballet technique and is one of the most effective training system adopted by numerous vocational ballet schools in the world.
We are extremely honored to have Mr Ilya with us to conduct this Masterclass!
Mr Ilya is a certified teacher in the Vaganova Method, having completed his degree in the Professional Teacher's Training Program with the Vaganova Ballet Academy. After his 8-year professional dancer’s vocational training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, he has had an illustrious ballet career, working with ballet companies in Russia, Korea and Germany.
At our Masterclass, students got the chance to train in Ballet classes and Character Dance taught in the Vaganova style. The Vaganova method focuses on the expressiveness of port de bras in the upper body and the strength and endurance in the legs and feet.
Students experienced Character Dance as taught in the Vaganova Ballet Academy and Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
Character dance, the stylised representation of a traditional folk or national dance, is integral to classical ballet training and helps develop the coordination required to become a versatile dancer.
