My Israelian friend told me to practice writing in cursive as people in israel only use the cursive when writing. The print hebrew is easy to grasp and easy to "print" on the paper, but as soon as I am confronted with cursive I find myself struggling with it be it in writing or in reading. Thanks for this tip !!

I love that you said Israelian. I would have never thought to have invented such a word. And I have enough made up words in English to start a new dictionary. Sometimes I feel like an Israelian trapped in an earthly American body.

This video is well timed, as I have been writing using using the printed letters and I have come to realize that taking notes and writing in Hebrew is taking about 10x longer than it should, so I have started to teach myself the script. (I'm using the old fashioned "write the alphabet over and over again until you begin to cry" method.) So this app ought to work a treat.

lol...thank you for this. Currently I'm trying to learn both...but got SO confused when they said printing and writing and block. One person would say it and mean one thing, and another would say it and mean another. I am halfway through the first part of the alef-bet, writing both letters styles, but I have to admit...what you call writing cursive is WAY easier for me to sound out and understand, but, I also want to be able to read Genesis...so recognizing block letters and niqqud and cantillations are in my future, but for now...I just want to make it all the way through the alef-bet. I enjoyed your video.

Great feedback, thank you so much! It is very important to figure out what you want to do with Hebrew so you learn it the right way. I see you are clear about that. This will help you a lot in achieving your goals!

Shalom. At about 9:50 in this video you hold up a paper that shows Hebrew cursive in 3 different styles. Does this app teach the different styles. I purchased the app because that’s what I thought was part of the lessons, but I don’t see it.

hello, since this video is already a bit older, I cannot say, what the app offers today. At that time, itwas suuuper simple. Later I designed my own course to teach the students to write and also read properly. I hope, you will find some benefit with this app.

Hebrew Verbs Yes. I am 15 now and when I was 6 years old it was unimaginable that children wouldn’t learn it but now the children don’t learn the real cursive anymore. They teach them some REALLY basic things like the l which looks like e or learn to write the a in one stroke instead of one but no connecting of the letters is allowed, like cursive has to be written in the roman alphabet. My little cousin who is 3rd class can’t read cursive because they don’t learn it anymore.

You are missing out. All your notes should be in cursive. Your brain will learn bwtter by writing things down. Eriting in orint takes much longer. It slows the whole process down. If you do not change it st the beginning, you probably never will. Still, I am crossing my fingers for you 😍

As a student of languages around the world, I've never seen a case like Hebrew where the printed letterforms are not simply disused, but overtly harangued against. It seems that native speakers have legitimate reasons for preferring the pragmatic cursive, yet carry their sentiments on such matters well beyond utility. It is personal or something! I personally think the cursive looks silly and possesses somewhat poorly designed graphemes for an underwhelming supplement.
