I agree 100% that stretching does help slow the process. Diet is also a factor. The Taoist mind says that "man must do two basic things to live, that is movement and consumption". Performing the correct movements and posture and consuming the correct sustenance will improve the quality of health.

You can see a lot more of the koryu influence in his techniques what with the smaller moves as opposed to the larger circles as in aikido. I like it a lot, very different from the judo you see today.

The Master at work...no showing off to show you how Great he is..just a player demonstrating the result of YEARS of experiance..Hell, i bet if you asked him, he would of told you about the great master Kano, and not even seriously considured him self as anything more then another junioe student who just happened to still be around....Impressive, Most Impresive

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll try enrolling in a YOGA Class. I believe the stretching that they are doing in Yoga is more intense and focused.

The better term for "natural ability" would rather be more acceptable if it is called the "ability to learn faster than others", I believe. what is natural is to adapt and learn faster with little practice. If one practice less his physical skills to react, counter or see an opening becomes rusty. His mind might see but his body cant' cope. I am over 50 years old now, there are moves I can only think about that I can efficiently perform 15 years ago.

Age my friend is quite a factor...nevertheless the basic skills are already embedded...That is why I am still at it but not the same intensity during my younger days...The least I can do now is to pass the knowledge and develop someone that can continue the correct mind of the art...:-)

Wait..I thought the gracies started martial arts 🤣.... Truly excellent video 🥋
Have you ever tried stepping inside the mat and play or even grapple. You will understand better if you do try. I had the experience of playing with somebody 25 years senior. I really had quite a sweat and loss air doing it. My 20 years training experience was not enough my friend...

There's a true story about such an old Japanese judo master who brought judo to the UK. He entered a police station to report that 4 men had attacked him and tried to take his gold watch, attached to his waistcoat. The police officer behind the counter queried his claims, since the watch was still in place. The old man replied, "3 of them are outside unconscious; the 4th ran off."

AberrantBJJ, Kano visited O-Sensei Ueshiba's (the founder of Aikido) dojo, and was very impressed. He said, according to some: "this is real judo!" They met often after that, and Kano let his best students stay at the (Iwama?) dojo for half a year. So, probably, Mifune was there ^^D Not strange his judo is influenced by Aikido, then ^^ Shihonage - AberrantBJJ 1-0
