I can relate wholeheartedly. My wife died and I gave my son and daughter all of me! Sent my daughter to college and guided her to the Air Force only to have her turn and say how she hated me ! Basically bc I didn't approve of her ready to get married weeks after meeting a guy. That pain is life changing. Things between us will never be the same.

You said it...life changing. After all the sacrifices as well as all the good memories, it's like getting stabbed right in the heart. I spoke my mind (my daughter used to say how she loved that I was always REAL and said it like it is, always being truthful about how I feel), then gave my opinion about something her husband said and all of a sudden it's "you don't want me to be happy" and "I don't want you in my life anymore." Talk about heartbreak. I said what I said BECAUSE I want her to be happy! NOT OK what he said to me (about her!) and I spoke up, got mad. Yes, she's an adult now and has to live her own life. But it still hurts like a MF. Seriously hurts. Thanks for sharing your story, helped me to feel that I'm not alone. Stay strong & be proud of all you did. ❤

@kelliecraft9176 I'm in the same boat as my father. He never took care of me and only paid child support from 85-93 but tells everyone else he paid child support from 75-93. He also shows my mother no respect and says she lied to him when the went to court over child support. He acts like we (my mother and I) did something wrong to him. No, you just decided not to take care of your responsibilities. That justification is such a damaging characteristic of a lot of black fathers. It is a shame that the children have to suffer. Mostly as they become adults and really understand the damage it has caused directly or indirectly. But concerning Master P. It's something he did wrong to his Son. Most kids don't call out their parents over a small family matter. Where there's smoke there is fire.

Wow Capone!. That was deep what you said that your daughter said about you. I've gone through it with my Son and he has disrespected me in ways that I would never imagine. There are things that our children are doing to us that we would never do to our parents. The blatant disrespect and sense of entitlement that this generation has is unfathomable. None of us are perfect whether we are parents or children, but we as parents who have provided for our children do not deserve this.

This is where other family members, like spouses and relatives, as well as the community used to get involved. Nowadays, people are so disconnected. People need to understand his feelings are valid. You don't know their life. You don't know what was going on behind closed doors. My father is a 20+ year army vet. To the outside world he's a war hero. To me he was an abusive, neglectful, alcoholic who would often scream at me and beat me for simply doing things like playing to loudly or accidentally spilling something, hell one night I was still a toddler and he woke us up to go pee and when I was unable to pee he would repeatedly hit me and demand I pee even though I couldn't. He was drunk anyway time he was around and when he wasn't drunk he was hungover sleeping randomly getting up to scream or beat us if we were too loud. He punched me in my eye twice when I was like 6 or 7 when he was drunk. Then demanded I shut the hell up and stop crying and demanded I open my eye. This was the man I knew a loud mouth alcoholic who likes to beat on small children because he's drunk or hungover reeking of Newports but to everyone else who didn't know him hes an army vet with PTSD and should get a pass because he chooses the military and alcohol over his family. Rameos father probably took care of him financially but neglected him. Being a father doesn't just mean putting a roof over your head and clothes on your back and food. Moms do it too you should be there for your children. You're supposed to be their superhero, the one they can count on anytime. You should be able to talk to each other. Teach your children etc. Alot of folks don't understand this and wonder why their kids grow up hating them.

What you are describing is TOTALLY different than Romeo's complaints. Romeo has zero wisdom or understanding. He's unrealistic and has no appreciation and no respect. He's rich and never has to work and can lay up all day and be this "ABSOLUTELY MYTHICAL SUPERHERO" to his own children because of the emotional and physical SACRIFICES that his father had to make so that Romeo can have easy more quality time with his kids. However, he's so short-sighted, self-centered that he can't even see that. You have to be a delusional egocentric narcissist to believe that any parent can be all and everything to a child. Parents are imperfect humans just like their adult children. With that said, P respects and loves his children enough to not go on social media to deal with private gripes or concerns he has about any of them. You don't see P putting grown ass Romeo on blast for the stupid, disrepectful, selfish things Romeo has done. Romeo needs to take accountability for his own lapse in judgement and at this point in life should be mature enough to talk with his father privately or with the assistance of a neutral person such as a therapist. He clearly only cares about himself and has failed to take into account his father's feelings and view point which are just as valid as his. Period!

I sacrificed a lot for my child and made lots of mistakes but loved her and she knew it. What Capone NEEDS to speak on is how sometimes in families you're not "allowed" to speak about how you really feel "face to face" so you can't have it both ways. Not all families are so open & loving (I know) and not everyone had that Mama or Grama that deserved respect, seriously. Keeping it "in the family" (secrets) is why depression, mental health and too many suicides are major issues today. JS

Romeo don't know what that feels like to bury your child in certain people carry things different ways like Master P is always been a stern strong person, but you can hear the pain in his voice in that video. Good point, Pierre, about "time." Time means so much to children and spouses! My father was always in the home, but he "never" spent quality time with his kids! I had a dad who never said, "I love you" to his kids, never was involved in our schooling, never came to church with his wife and kids, never took us to the park, never said, "how was your day". Now think about what your father had as a dad. The last generation many men was raised that you do not do that as a man. Men was masculine the leader of the home. @mellissa7341 I clearly understood how little my dad had as a child. Yes, he like so many back then, had absolutely nothing but the clothes on their backs. However, kids suffer a lot because of their parents struggles. It made me tough and not easily trusting men! My father, although we loved him and respected him, he was extremely abusive to our mother and verbally abusive to his 5 daughters. We loved him but were afraid of him as well. I later learned that his childhood was very bad indeed. May he Rip😢🕊🙏🏽

Happy early bday! My absent father's bday is the same day. Time means more than anything to a child in relation to their parents. I WISH my father would have been there for me instead of just paying child support. The money was great! I got it all every week once I turned 13. But I would give back every dime plus interest to have memories of him from my childhood. Positive memories of him are few and far between. We haven't spoken in over 6 years and it's not because I haven't tried. He refuses to talk to me, yet has a great relationship with 1 of my 3 half sisters who lives a few miles away from me. He'll come to see her and I have no idea he's even come and gone back home until months after the visit, because she'll finally tell me. I had a wonderful maternal grandfather who picked up the pieces and took on the role of Daddy for me. But I still would've loved a positive memory with my biological father just once. All I have involve alcohol, drugs and loud noises.

Lol I feel where Romeo coming from, but pops ain’t gonna see it that way, I’m glad I got context behind this story because all I heard was them beefing online. The older generation does a poor job at communication with the younger generation I noticed. Those struggles Romeo had I’m sure he never felt comfortable talking about it with his pops

He still has a right to express himself. Black families feel like just because you did this and did that you can't say how u feel. Now the way he did it might have not been best because I beliebe it ain't have to be online and therapy would have been better. But it's some hurt there...we never lived in they house we don't know.

It saddens me that Romeo feels that way for whatever reason. And they are both hurt. You can hear (feel) it in both comments. I pray they come together and heal in every way possible. This is tough. Sending everyone healing vibes. May everyone be blessed with Peace, Love, & Joy🙏💜

Capone literally admitted to running the streets in his younger days but doesn't understand why his daughter hasn't gotten her stuff together?!🤔 Niqqa you were so busy doing everything you wanted to do in your hay day, everything that WASN'T raising your children then you wonder why they aren't further ahead than they are??! Y'all parents, especially fathers, don't realize that there are life altering/life changing effects of your emotional/physical absence in your child's life when they were growing up...
