You're suggestion while it has some validity, this saying from Sylvester Stallones' character Rocky - "Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth" is more relevant. Staying with Master P and accepting those bad deals when Slay Sean recognized his worth, would have been bad for him. His acceptance would have made it hard to negotiate a better deal in the long run. Just because he was getting paid doesn't mean he should stay and think that a future will appear where he will get his props. That is simply a dream that cannot be proven would ever happen. Often we talk about things in hindsight but that is the actual problem, hindsight is the future are choices are made. At the time whatever we are referring to happened the persons involved had no way of knowing if what was happening would lead to something good or bad, they could only do what was best or what they perceived as best for them at the time.
