I like to see any Seismic company management to swim beside or above a seismic blast 🤪because they expect the marine life too 🐢🐙🐟🦑🐬🦀🦞🐳
@GeophysicsInsight2 ай бұрын
In marine seismic surveys, dynamite is not utilized due to its possible impact on marine life; instead, airguns have been used, which generate waves through pressure waves. Your idea is certainly worth evaluation.

Dear Ahsan, If you are interested in Seismic processing & Imaging, Machine learning technologies are contributing a lot to improving the methods and results. You can start learning ML and how it can be beneficial in Petroleum Geosciences.

Hi. Is the AI of carbonates not higher than sandstones?
@GeophysicsInsight3 жыл бұрын
Acoustic impedance value is used to see rock compactness which is a product of velocity and density. However, sandstone is primarily composed of sand granules with a high quartz and feldspar content. Sandstone may also contain fragments of other rocks. The high quartz content gives sandstone a subtle sparkle in the sunlight and lends it a degree of structural strength that makes sandstone harder and provides higher AI value than carbonate.
@koksalan753 жыл бұрын
@@GeophysicsInsight wow thanks very much for the answer. Is that the case all the time or sometimes? I thought that at the same depth if we are comparing sandstone and carbonate s that carbonates have higher AI than sandstones., isnt that the case then?
@GeophysicsInsight3 жыл бұрын
@@koksalan75 Well, if the porosity and permeability of sandstone is higher then it will have lower velocity and density. which makes AI lower. I am not so sure at which depth it would be less than carbonates. I guess it is not only the depth but there would be some other factors that influence the AI of a rock.
