Joining your Patreon has been delightful. I'm so glad that I stumbled across your channel. Alas, the only drawback has been lack of sleep after poring over all of the helpful tomes you've created. A Question: Given all that you know, and given the characteristics of the Iphone Pro (I have a 14 Pro) -- what would be your "default" settings in Filmic Pro, as well as Native? I've run up against a total beast of a workflow with Dolby HDR enabled when trying to replicate the look once I get into a Premiere Timeline. Add to that pain trying to clip match when bringing in other footage (say, Rec 709) and trying to make something seamless. Would you recommend filming in a Flat profile as a default, 10bit, Filmic Extreme, as a default method if the majority of my content will be filmed on my Iphone? I have a DJI OSMO 6 and Filmic integrates with it. But I like the Cinematic Mode of the Iphone for its Depth of Field for Static Interview Situations. I can't select a flat profile on the Native Phone App. It would seem to make sense to not shoot in HDR, but 4K/24 (maybe PRO RES?) Trying to work smart on settings to forgo any surprises in Premiere... Last, do you have the ability to take additional tips beyond your $5 Patreon, or "up" the level of giving that one might do? I'd like to give a more "tangible" form of a thank you -- you are truly a master craftsman.

Great video! Minor nitpick though, the point made 30:38 is actually a common misconception. "Zooming in" on a photo or "zooming in" with a telephoto lens are physically identical. You can simulate a telephoto lens by cropping a wider shot (in fact most smartphone "telephoto" lenses do exactly this), all you lose is optical clarity and resolution. The only way you can change the amount of optical compression in the frame is by moving closer or further away from the subject, hence the effect shown in the video.

Great video. Could you do a video more about the beginner to pro section? I am not a beginner, but I struggle in this area. While on holiday, we went to a Japanese garden, and it was wow, I need to get some video of this. So you are not prepared, it's a spur-of-the-moment thing, and one goes into meltdown. I try to get a selection of wide, medium and close-up shots, but I can't connect it all together in the edit. I can't seem to get the shoot for the edit concept unless I have loads of time to pre-plan. But when on holiday, you don't get that time; it's "I need to get this on video now"! (my partner doesn't want to spend several hours on a film set) A video on such a scenario would be a godsend. Thanks.
