General thoughts: - the video processing and text animation effects were effective and not terribly over-done/gimmicky (except for that one ‘mechanical keyboard,’ ‘one-key-at-a-time’ part which was slow) - use all-caps more conservatively and consistently, keep color schemes restrained, and add some subtle stroke, glow, and/or back-shadow to your text overlay to keep it readable (e.g., 5:21) - the terms “sound checkspots,” “TR reading,” and “HB reading” get thrown around. I’d try to establish the best sounding one early and stick to it (I’m partial to “TR-reading”) Intro/definition section: - could be more direct/succinct and also it felt weird to all-caps emphasize ‘precisely’ when it’s not really - it was helpful demonstrating how line of sight doesn’t influence TR audio Chapter 1 (Terror radius basics): - would’ve been helpful to point to the specific elements of the audio that intensify most dramatically. Like how at far distances, the slow bassy horn is prominent, THEN the constant bass-y spiccato strings grow, and FINALLY those higher “impact” strings swoop in. Of course it’s different for each killer’s music, but first of all that’s probably helpful to mention. Secondly, I bet each one follows similar rules (i.e., there are ~3 separate sections that build one-at-a-time) and then imagine how cool it would be to establish at what distances a new musical element appears to ultimately be able to say something like “when the last element is as loud as the first, the killer is within lunge distance." To be clear, idk if that's how it works, but if so and you had a video breaking it down, that'd be a sick resource. Game: - what you were getting at here makes sense on paper (demonstrate how that little bit of added awareness results in meaningful distance), but you had just primed us to listen for subtle audio cues and so it felt distracting and frustrating Chapter 2 (“usage”) intro: - although I liked all the images and pacing in isolation, the name of this section made them feel confusing. I would’ve just called this section “TR-reading on medium-to-large tiles” to establish the relevance. - And instead of just slow zooming in on the final example that you were going to start with, I would have included the text “let’s start with Pallet Gyms” or maybe pin each little MS-paint tile and its name in the corner of the screen while you were running it Chapter 3 (“problems”): - rename to something like “TR mind-gaming for advanced killers” Why it works: - I thought this section was awesome. You can tell exactly what you mean and so that low-budget screen recording vibe just makes it feel stylish Chapter 4 (“Killer noises”) I thought all this information was super helpful as well. I would have just mentioned explicitly at the start that these noises are more for direction than distance since you had focused on gauging distance the rest of the video

2.4k hours here. I never payed too much attention to tr and hb sound until I got basement stairs mindgamed at shack, lol. After that, I started paying more attention, but I never could figure it out quite well, specially at pallet gyms. But know I understand it better, and perhaps more importantly I'm aware of what counters tr reading. However, something I still have trouble with, is actually putting it into practice, I have trouble breaking chase and consequently I almost never got to apply it and ended up leaving tr/hb reading in the "useless to me and only useful to top player" category.
@Fabraa3 күн бұрын
@@angrycat2789 If you don't know how to break chase is not as useful, I understand that it can seem very "unrealistic" since I'm getting chased without chase music, anyways it still has it's utilities and I'll solve your breaking chase problems in the near future ;). Once u know both mechanics and can combine them ur chase will be twice as good

@@Fabraa Thank you very much kind sir for the reply and for the video, please do the video on breaking chase, I'll slam the like button. I've tried to break chase on shack, long/short wall gyms, pallet gyms, but I've been very inconsistent, fillers are easy once the pallet has been dropped, you just hold check spots and walk, but you don't need to tr/hb read there cause you're watching the killer the whole time.

Does this still work when you're in chase? I know you should always try to break chase in these loops where you can heartbeat read since there's usually very good line of sight blockers but should you be in chase and in the process of getting out of it, are you still able to heartbeat read? I'd imagine you still can, it's just a bit harder since there's more audio clutter but I'm not sure since I have never tested it. If anyone knows please tell me.

Can you show us how to deal with the Nurse effectively? It would be interesting to see how someone with your skill set would handle a Nurse in chase, who plays at the highest level. I swear there are Nurse players who can calculate every possible option a survivor has, and get a hit/down for anything that they do. Personally, I try my hardest not to be predictable- and I still get downed easily. No matter how random I am. Breaking line of sight only delays the inevitable because she closes distance so quickly and is right on top of me; and not in a way I want a nurse on top of me.
