💯agreed. We’re about the same age. I too had this game back then. The worst part is there was no energy bar. One hit and it’s done. 3 lives. And all that work, insane boss battles for a crappy ending

Wow, I remember owning this game when I was a child. I could never get passed the 5 Alien Boss, so this Long Play has finally fulfilled my curiosity of what actually happens on the 6th level and what the 7th boss looked like. I have to agree with the other comments about not using the original in-game music for this video. I always loved the music when it was time to find the exit and fight the Boss, so it would've been cool to hear that again. But overall, I really enjoyed your expert playthrough of one of my childhood fave Master System Games! ^_^

EmpressB7 Well, the hardware limitations made me rather disapointed and kinda put me off to play the arcade version, which had more complex bosses.

This was the version that I played at home and was familiar with. I didn't see many videos of Master System version of the game. Most people showed the Arcade version or NES version.
@Mr_x_199224 жыл бұрын
That's because you played the mediocre Master System version, the Game Gear was way better and it also had a special code that allowed you enter a menu where you can put many more lives, change the difficulty and even select what stage you wanted to start

i remember being impressed by this way back then when it first came out. the NES version isnt terrible.. but.. the graphics and sounds were definitely phoned in for the NES version lol. i own it, played it the other day! but the master system version here was pretty good for 8bit. too bad sega didnt release their system16 games for the genesis. shinobi, alien syndrome, altered beast and a few others were system16 games in the arcade. but shinobi and alien syndrome oddly never got a home release. also, i wish eswat on the genesis (which is also a system16 game) would have been closer to the arcade instead of a more original port. the arcade version was much more amusing.

@blueshotgun0176 жыл бұрын
Jason Loucks sounds like theyre playing it with the fm sound enhancement. it came as a physical attachment on some models, like my sega mark III. i dunno what the master system had for sound, but if you dont have the attachment then the music plays with the onboard 8-bit sound chip called the psg. i think most games sound better without the fm enhancement because everything from that era using fm sounds like cheap midi instruments, like a lot of 80s action movies.

Played by: TAS (cheats) It's so obvious, look at 17:02 he walks barely into the face, but yet he goes quick and safe as if it was controlled by a machine, notice how the machine moves pixel perfect, any human being, even the most skilled, would at least take a little time to slow down to make sure they are not touching the green face, but yet this TAS not even stops lol. Also, the machine knows exactly where every single prisoner is in every single level... wtf! not even got lost once

oh? i see, well i think it doesnt do the game justice.... it's too bass heavy and the laser sound had a lasting high pitch sound that was VERY irritating.... it should have been presented as it originally is or in the least put in the description otherwise so ppl dont think the game is worse than it actually is... and before the accusations start flying: no i am not a SEGA fanboy, i love nintendo, sega, sony and microsoft all the same. note salahmander i dont think you was gonna say that...
