Hey. I need some help with my setup. Here’s the equipment I currently have: - **Denon AVR-X4800H** - **Rotel RB-1582 MkII** - **Outlaw 2220 Mono Amplifier** - **Cambridge Audio CXN100 Media Player** Rotel RC-1572 MkII Subwoofer connected to denon. - ** Rotel RC-1572 MkII preamp **Speakers:** - **Klipsch RP-8000F II** (Front) - **Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500M** (Surround) - **Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-504C II** (Center) **Connections:** - The front left and right RCA outputs from my Denon AVR-X4800H are connected to the Rotel RB-1582 MkII via RCA inputs. - The 12V trigger from the Denon is connected to the Rotel RB-1582 MkII. - The Klipsch RP-8000F II speakers are connected to the Rotel RB-1582 MkII. - The center pre-out RCA from the Denon AVR-X4800H is connected to the Outlaw 2220 Mono Amplifier. - The 12V trigger is also connected from the Denon to the Outlaw 2220. - The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-504C II speaker is connected to the Outlaw 2220. My goal is to use the Denon AVR-X4800H for a 7.1 movie setup, alongside the Outlaw 2220 and Rotel RB-1582 MkII. Both amplifiers will be triggered using the 12V cables from the Denon. For the stereo setup, I want to use the Cambridge Audio CXN100, which I connect to a preamplifier Rotel RC-1572 MkII using two XLR cables. The two XLR outputs from the Rotel RC-1572 MkII connected to the Rotel RB-1582 MkII. Thus, the Rotel RB-1582 MkII will receive two RCA inputs from the left and right pre-outs of my Denon, as well as two XLR inputs from the left and right outputs of the Rotel RC-1572 MkII simultaneously. Since the Rotel has only one 12V trigger input, I'm unsure how to connect both the Denon receiver and the Rotel RB-1582 MkII to the Cambridge Audio CXN100 at the same time. I want to listen to music in stereo through the CXN100 while keeping the Denon off, and I want to watch movies while keeping the CXN100 off. I tried looking for a 12V combiner that supports two 3.5 mm inputs and one 3.5 mm 12V trigger output, but I don’t think that will work for me. Additionally, I need to know how to keep the Rotel RB-1582 MkII off when I want to watch movies. My second issue is managing the audio signals. I want to use 2 RCA from the Denon receiver and 2 XLR cables from the Rotel RB-1582 MkII with the same amplifier, the Rotel RB-1582 MkII. Any other solution you can recommend me?

Great video George! Very cool to see a setup similar to what most of us have in our homes. I’m using my trusty harmony hub to control anything with IR and Bluetooth. Amplifiers are on smart plugs but honestly just stay on 95% of the time.

A better option, but more expensive, is the Panamax M8 AV Pro which has an actual trigger plug built into a surge protector strip.... Off Ebay it can be found for $90ish or a bit more as well as Amazon and has 4 electrical receptacles that are triggered off the av from trigger cable.

Another informative video. I have exactly the same situation with two crown subwoofer amps in my home theater. Would be nice if they made a 20amp version of the power bar for high output applications, but the one you linked should suffice. Thanks for detailing the solution to this common problem.

I bought a Furman power conditioner for the triggers. Now when I push the on button everything cranks. Been using triggers for years but this is the most trigger intensive application yet. Even my subs have triggers.

Had an XTZ power amp only with auto on or always on. Auto on was hopless. Watching a movie it took to long before it turned on, and during scenes it turend off (making my klipchs atmos speakers pop). Now i use audilab monoblocks with 12v trigger (and pass through).

How does 12v trigger work? Does the 12v has to be constantly fed to the device? So when the 12v is interrupted will the device switch off again?

Is there a way to trigger one amplifier from multiple sources? I have one amplifier but use AVR for movies (in preamp mode) and a separate external DAC and streamer for music

I use a smart plug for my power strip that all my devices are connected to. Everything turns on/off with a push of a button. No 12 v trigger needed.

Hi, I learned to use iotrelay to trigger my 2 amplifiers from my receiver. It works as it should. However I’d like to ask whether you have ever experienced the loud popping sound from speakers right after turning on the receiver to trigger the iotrelay? Sometimes it gently pops, sometimes it pops louder like electric crackling.

I used a regular 12 volt trigger cable. I cut off one of the ends, stripped back the plastic sheathing and connected it to the connector on the power strip.
