Another excellent and informative video. This is a great resource for beginners just starting out. I wish this video had been available when I started making journals because you explain “why” something is done a given way. Also, I love how you explained that you can use different hole placements and not have to always use a template guide, which most videos don’t let you know. For the longest time I thought you absolutely “had to” poke the holes in specific places with a template guide, which became very frustrating when making different journals sizes I didn’t have a template for. After a lot of experience and increasing confidence, I simply eyeball my hole placements now. I agree with practicing! One day I got tired of feeling so afraid of making journals, I sat down with some copy paper, leftover pieces of card stock, and a variety of different threads, strings, and flosses and started experimenting making various size journals/notebooks. LOL some didn’t turn out very good but those that did made great stockings stuffers for Christmas that year. Thank you for this video! I hope others find it as helpful as I do.

thanks Morgaine, this part is cruital to getting into and enjoying making journals, and you so rightly pointed out you can change it up and do your own thing along the way just like sewing a dress i'd say, ha ha love the stocking fillers idea, I have tonnes to gift this year too 🥰🦋 hugs Donna

@@JunkJournalideas lol! Well that makes me feel better! It was my 1st ever pamphlet stitch and it was late at night so thats my excuse! Hahaha

@@NorthernLightsCraftsMn the good thing is you can tear it to get it out, and just make a new template, it's easier than taking out the stitches 😃
