You can just go 4 above your actual knee length. That will work

If it has a front zipper, you will still cut the back the way we cut it, but you will just sew it down. This is to retain the fit at the back Then, for the front, you will take that pattern that i said to cut (5 pieces ) You will fold it into 2, then place it on your fabric, then add zipper allowance on the folded part, then half inche on the other. I hope you understand this explanation?
