Thanks for another great video. You're the first mixologist I've seen that added the mix first, then soda water, then mix and top off with soda water again. I've seen different techniques, one being to add the mix and water at the same exact time. Interesting how everyone has different ways of building drinks. My Tom Collins is actually a mix between a Tom Collins and a Gin Fizz, since I like mine with foam. Love the channel!

LOL, behind the "stink" ...we've all been there before.... A few months back I began using a soda siphon in my home bar. Works great, don't need open a 12 oz can for 1-2 oz soda, or a 1 liter bottle....that will go flat before I finish it. I use filtered tap water, taste is very good. This will be my Friday Afternoon cocktail. Cheers.

One of these days I'll get myself a bottle of Old Tom gin.. never tried it before. I've had a million of these though using London Dry! BTW anyone shitty enough to complain about history in a cocktail video is NEVER EVER going to be happier in life, no matter what you or anyone else does. Adding timestamps is generally good practice, but to the people leaving nasty comments... who cares lol

I have some Ransom, but wasn't sure how it would come out in a Collins. I'm going to have to try it now. Interesting tidbit: Ransom actually isn't sweetened, Hayman's and pretty much every other Old Tom are, but Ransom just barrel ages theirs.

Do you think it's called a Tom Collins because it uses old tom gin?

Where is the bitters?? Every bartender you mentioned in this video would have used some sort of bitters in this drink. I could not drink this without bitters. Bitters to a bartender is like a spice rack to a chef. Bittercube's cherry bark vanilla is perfect for this cocktail...or (many others) Angostura if you're in a pinch.

I wonder how many Mr. Collins died as a result of that joke. Imagine you finally get to that one bar, ask if Tom Collins is there and an *actual* Tom Collins says "Yep, that's me!". And then gets glassed in the face. On the subject of gins, do you know of any good Sloe Gin cocktails? I got a bottle here but have no idea how to use it.
