Dude went back again. The description on the major 7th is so helpful. Chasing where the bb7 becomes a major 7 through each voicing is SO helpful! Anyone can hear it and play it but when you really learn whatever happening you can transpose it!

Holy crap.... one of the best videos I've seen in a while..... your playing is stellar by the way....

Thanks for thisis great content ! There is a year worth of i studying in here...I have been coming back to this on a monthly basis and only now do I understand all of the theory it imies and Sometimes I just love to hear and intellectualize how the intervals chaange symmetrically in relation to each other. giving unique voicings and harmonic possibilities. ImYou could apply this scale to giant steps andghet some pretty outside sounding voicings. Great job

As a huge fan and practitioner of the operatic symphonic progressive melodic euro folk metal style that´s going on in the world of metal these years I can´t wait to sit down and dig deep into this for expanding the melodic language of the music I play. Equally applicable to the grand anthem like compositions of the style as well as to the in your face rockers as to the folk inspired acoustic songs,- all of it expanding the harmonic and melodic possibillities of an already more open and outside genre of metal than most. New sub here. Thank you.

Dude, this is amazing. I love the wh/hw "diminished world". You can blend them in in so many musical contexts. But, it is A LOT of "non-mainstream" stuff in there. I wouldn't take a thing of what and how you explained it, just make it slowly a bit "digestible". Once again, excellent EVERYTHING on this video, mate. 👌

Robby, the beauty and skill of your playing is matched only by tour warm, lush tone. Are you playing through a Kemper Profiler? Could you do a "rig rundown"? Please post some videos of you performing with a full band, especially original compositions. Although you obviously don't play in his style, I think you are at a Pat Metheney level.

Robbie… love your playing and explanations. A lot on this vidéo are sort of an extrapolation of Pat Martini’s view of augmented and diminished cords as being « parental forms ». Would you consider getting in touch with the TrueFire people to do a course. Diminished is a good study. Diminished , altered Dim and loc Dim are the main 3 but there are other "modal" Diminished. 4 in harmonic minor 4 in harmonic major 4 in hungarian major 4 in Romainian major Loc6, dor#4, lyd#2, altbb7 Dorb5, lydb3, lydaug#9, locbb7 Lyd dom#9, altbb6bb7, alt6, dor b2#4 Lyd aug#9#3, aeolb5bb7, Mel minb5, lyd augb3 (lyd dim aug) With the 2 modes of octatonic diminished that's all of them from what I remember. There always more though but these are the most useful from the most common parent scales. 18 all together.
