What I found supremely useful (especially when shooting something where you can’t see your screen anymore) is using the Camera app in my Apple watch as a viewfinder for the native Camera app on the iPhone. I can even adjust the focus and point of highlight from the apple watch! Its amazing stuff

Hey Simon, cool video! FYI to save you some time in Premiere just Nest your Warp Stabilizer effect (you can add any effect this way) so you can skip the export/re-import step and also you could simply Modify > Interpret the 60FPS footage to 24FPS instead of using a motion effect and that yields the highest quality too - and you can batch all the HFR clips at one time this way as well. :)

I have both SE and 6, and with my android phone, Osmo Mobile SE/Mobile 6/Mimo app lacks essential control over photography parameters available in an Iphone. There are available workarounds in android (depending on the phone) and the one I've found works well if you're using Samsung S21 Ultra (to 25 ultra with a 108 to 200 MP Quad main camera), is to run the native Samsung (pink icon) Camera with the Osmo Mobile 6 (optional Mimo on the backgroud) and with Samsung Raw app installed delivers lossless raw option, most of the advance photography options like auto/manual control over EV, ISO, f, shutter speed, hd to 8k size/fps, etc. as well as host of image telemetry including histogram. The workaround supports aswell, a host of auto shoot options supporting photographic requirements ranging from basic to advance across different scenarios. This range of controls you typically find in expensive mirrorless SLRs. Note also that if you own a tripod with a remote shutter control this should works so long linked with bluetooth together with other functionalities like voice command and hand gesture. Hope this helps.

Simon, I've only just started doing video making and wondered if you could clear something up for me. In this video, you say that you always shoot at 60fps, add it onto a 24fps timeline and then adjust the speed down by 40%. But everything I read says record at 24fps only pushing it up to 60fps to do slow motion. Confused what is best!
@SiHorrocks3 жыл бұрын
I only shoot at 60fps and slow it to 40% for slow motion. But my tip is to shoot all your B roll like this, if you want it to look smoother and more cinematic. Unless you want a different effect for your B roll

Morning simon hope you are well, I wonder if you can help me out, I have the DJI om4 gimbal paired with the iPhone 12, and try as I may I cannot achieve the dolly or zoom shot effect either in or out. I have tried and tried with different objects and distances etc, my video always seems to have a slightly up and down movement but doesn’t appear as clear as the other videos I’ve seen. Perhaps you would consider making a video tutorial solely covering the dolly/zoom in/out video showing how to set up the gimbal and phone etc. love the channel and have Learnt a lot and am applying it to our own channel.
