These videos are so appreciated!! Some of us supervisors and managers that took on these wire machines can't just up and leave for a week of training half way across the nation, or out of the USA for that matter!

Thanks for the video. There are not many of us using MasterCam Wire, so it was good to see someone else using it.

Please make more videos like this, there isn´t much material on youtube about wire EDM. Great job!

Thank you for this video. I went from CNC mills and lathes to Wire EDM at my new job. Your video was a huge help in the familiarization of mastercam wire!

Yes there is a need for more edm wire videos. I love watching this stuff.

Great job, good clip - time lapse, & quality. I'm just learning on an old Agie Classic and as one of your other comments mentioned, there's not much out there. I enjoyed you mentioning some of the program codes as well. Thank you!

Hope you do more of these stuff, it's quite difficult to find those contents.

Very very useful. Thanks. As mentioned by others 4 axis would be very interesting.

Thanks for the vid, bro!! I'm running a Mitsubishi wire. I forgot the model, but it's the newest one. Thanks for the MC2018 pointers. I'm still trying to figure out how to measure upper and lower head height for angle machining. Not being able to bid on a few more high $$ jobs might hep motivate me!!

Great Video!!! could you do a video on programming 4th axis in mastercam?

Thanks Ian for a great video, it would be great if you would explain how are you setting up the EDM machine.

I would definitely like to see more wEDM. The company I work for has only me running their two Charmilles wEDM machines and I'm still an apprentice. So tutorials from an expert would be quite helpful. Question - @ 6:24 - compensation 'in computer'. Does that mean that mastercam outputs pre-adjusted gcode for the wire path instead of the wedm machine's control setting the wire offset? Also, thanks for apologising to us metric peasants ;)

I think I might have the wrong post on my Mastercam since I don't get the correct header. any advice?
@LetsMachine6 жыл бұрын
What kind of header is it giving you vs what it should be?
@cheeriomartinez6 жыл бұрын
It's not giving me any at all for the header. It just shows the size of the wire and then at the bottom it shows all the gcodes. What i've had to do is export my program out to my wire machine, edit it there and do a "Condition" search on there just to get the right power settings, but all the offsets might be off since i dont know which offsets it is using in the program. Anyways, thanks for your help and this video saved my ass.
@LetsMachine6 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah I have to condition search every time in my machine in order to get power settings as well! Glad I could be of a bit of help!
